My last car was a prelude with tokico coilovers and it was a bit of a pain to have to pull over and adjust them. How are they as far as overall ride quality?

thanks mucho
They are perfect for my application. I needed coilovers for a wide range of activities. My schedule is limited so, if at best, I'll see only a couple of track days. But, I needed something that could handle my power setup. When I tracked my 20G setup my Espelir springs didn't really do much for me (this was with stock shocks, f/r stb, f/r sways, endlinks all around, ladder brace). On the daily drive they had the perfect stance and the ride was great. During the winter season, I go boarding a lot and although I had a winter tire setup for traction, clearance was still an issue.

Like you, I needed something that could be stiff enough for those track days and soft enough for those 1000 mile weekends in the mountains. Since I didn't hear many good reviews with Tein products in general and I was happy with the quality of all my prior Cusco products I picked the Cusco 2Es. Installation was a breeze; just replace the stock damper setup with the coilovers and clip the harnesses together and you're good to go. Overall ride quality is nice and adjusting from inside the cabin is instantaneous and on the fly. Matter of fact, my last trip to Mammoth with the trunk packed, four guys inside, and a roof-rack with 4 snowboards, it rode like stock during the entire trip. On settings 1-2 (softest) you might get a clunk over small bumps. Settings 3-5 (5 hardest) the clunk is nonexistent. Setting 5 is stiff but since I think I've sat in stiffer setups before (16k front/16k rear) its not bone jarring.

My car is raised for the winter and I'm currently riding on the 1st setting (softest). Its so nice right now now having to worry about driveways, speedbumps, and bumps in the road I think it'll be hard for me to drop my car again. Matter of fact, my last trip to Mammoth with the trunk packed, four guys inside, and a roof-rack with 4 snowboards, it rode like stock during the entire trip on the 1st setting. Keep in mind I had winter tires on with softer sidewalls than the stock re070s.

sweet! thanks much timeless - I think this is probably the route I'm going to go eventually - like you I unfortunately don't get too much time for track days and canyon carving, and I have to drive through crummy los angeles streets every day. I also use my car for those same 1000 mile weekend mountain road trips quite often, and I think the flexibility of the cusco setup sounds perfect - especially when I see a particularly fun road mid-trip

I also want to avoid lowering the car for day to day use - with coilovers I can drop it for track days. I was mostly concerned with whether they were capable of a stock-like ride for those long road trips with members of the more sensitive sex along thanks a ton for the info!

These coilovers are flexible enough to handle occasional track days and roadtrips but unfortunately they can't fix the sensitivity of the opposite sex.

I think there are others on these boards that have greater setups than mine. I just try to improve the car to fit my lifestyle and coincidentaly it works out.

damn look at the torque curve compared to sz55.
do you feel it tapers after 6.5k?

Thanks for the dyno guys! I think it'll be helpful for a lot of ppl on these boards.

The power actually delivers pretty good as opposed to other setups I've had. The spool on the 30r isn't bad for a slightly larger turbo than the sz55 either...I think its the awesome Harman Motive CAI. Honestly, I don't feel much of a taper after 6.5k because even when I take it up that high that's the point of where I shift. The torque from the 30r feels great but I don't think my snow tires aren't liking it too much...I could hear the tires giving way taking off.

Default Post #209 Crawford Air/Oil Seperator and STI Type RA-R Shift Knob

So I installed the Cusco 2E a while back and decided to post a pic of where I decided to place the E-controller. I wanted it to be out of the way where people can't see it so I chose the armrest. Simple dremel tool helped to install the controller. The width of the E-Controller fits perfectly across the internal measurements of the armrest.

I've been told that my setup smokes sometimes when I cruise around and since its just a bit of smoke I think its just blowby. I was looking at simple catch can setups but wasn't happy with the ones I've found until I stumbled onto this air/oil seperator from Crawford. It does just the same as a catch can but instead of just trapping the oil in the can it returns it back into the oil loop of the engine so there's no need to empty the blowby oil. Nice looking piece so I'll give it a try.

I got this piece from my dealer. It's a genuine JDM Subaru part and looks like the RA-R shift knob only with a different decal on top. The Kartboy shifter/bushing made changing gears much smoother but I felt it was a bit too short in height. Adding this piece raises the height a bit making the shift throws feel more confident in each gear. It's fatter too so it gives a bit more distinct feeling in the palm of my hand. It came with the carbon shift pattern sticker too!

Very nice...for the E-Con, all you did was power it, ground it, and hook up a "ignition" wire so it turns on when the car is on...I still have to do this hahaha.
