I'm good. You were going to fire off your stock FPR. However, I picked up a spare so I am good to go.

Doooooooooooood. Why do you have to say stuff like that!?!?!??! I can't believe you still have that. I might have to take you up on that if you still have it in a few months

I feel like such a slacker.

I guess I haven't sold it yet because in the back of my mind I always say "what if". Like what if I move to a state with stronger inspection laws. What if I get a "fix it" ticket. Anything that would make me have to go back to stock (i.e. inspection passable).

Just let me know if you want to try it out. I'll try and get it up to you faster than I did that FPR. Oh. Wait. Didn't I send that to you?

Nice!!! How hard was the install of the APS Fuel Rails? Were the new Subaru clips needed for the APS Fuel Rails???? Let me know how that FPR install goes....I am guessing I am going with the firewall mounting locationg, so a 90 degree elbow on the bottom of the FPR.

Wolf, every manifold I've taken off (excluding a motor with <5K on it) had corrosion on the fasteners just like yours. I used to think they went through a water jacket or something but that isn't the case. Anyways, it's all good.

It wasn't too hard of an install. The biggest effort is put into the routing. I couldn't quite figure out how to route the passenger side rear fuel line. The APS instructions didn't show whether it should go over the turbo inlet or under the turbo inlet. I ended up taking it over the turbo inlet. There was a small issue when using the 8mm phenolic spacers that almost ended up being a deal breaker. The phenolic spacers raised the rails enough such that the passenger side rear connection now interferes with the cam sensor (I think that is what that is - lol). Since I was using a spare harness, I trimmed the harness connector to provide more clearance between the fuel rail fitting and that connector.

I could have easily reused the stock subaru clips - but I purchased new ones (and new bolts). This allowed me to put my stock injectors back into the stock fuel rails and bolt them down. No biggie - I just wanted to have my old stock manifold basically ready to roll in case I ever want to bolt it back on.

I'll probably do the AFPR in the fall and I'll be paying attention to what you do

Update? Update?!?! In short, I worked in 100d heat for around 20 hours. I am DONE!

This is a great example of why I don't want people working on my car. I spent tons of time rerouting lines, moving clips to point in different directions, taking lines off and just plain redoing them, etc. Yes, I am anal. I don't want a clip's edges rubbing on something and then causing an issue 1 year from now. Anyhoo, it paid off.

I filled the cooling system slowly and did the 'squeeze top hose method' to burp the system over and over again. Things looked good.

I primed the fuel system about 20 times and checked for leaks. Things looked good.

I pulled fuse 11 (IGN) and cranked the motor for awhile to prime the new turbo oil feed and AVCS lines. Things looked good.

I reset the ECU and attempted to start the car . It started right up. I revved the motor for about 10 minutes with the heat on. Yes, now I was probably in 115d heat. Egad. Waited for no more bubbles in the top coolant reservoir. Things looked good. Temperature was good. I guess I got the air bubbles out of the coolant system (which I was worried about).

I know my car really well because I drive it every day. The car definitely feels smoother at part throttle - kinda like it is struggling less - it is hard to explain.

WOT in the 100d heat with a 200lb passenger felt bla as always. But, honestly, I think it felt less bla (ROFLMFAO!). Stock turbos suck - but, I think I made an improvement here. My logs showed more airflow than usual for a 100d day.

Pictures to follow later.

All in all, this was hand destroying work. If I count all the little tiny red scabs, I have about 40 on both of my hands. There is just so much stuff packed into a tiny space: from the Turbo oil feed + AVCS line, to the fuel lines, etc. Just a ton of stuff.

Yes, it was like this almost the entire time in the garage. It sucked.

The finished product:

A shot of a bunch of things (Phenolic spacers, TGV deletes, Fuel rails ... and a scratched up FMIC tube! lol):

New Turbo oil feed and AVCS line:

I forgot to ask you, did you have a clearance issue with the APS fuel rails along the right side bank?

I had to chop up my cam position sensor clip to clear one of the fittings on the rails....

The one behind this one...

Post #278 . I thought it was totally related to me using the 8mm phenolic spacers. I guess I would have had the issue anyhow.
