IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2004 Trader Rating: (7) | I installed the Defi Boost gauge for now with help from a friend at home! I'll have the EGT, and Oil pressure installed by Chris and Ian when I get a chance to get down there! Couldn't wait to monitor the boost, had to get that safe guarded! I'll have some pics up later on... but it looks funny with only 1 gauge in the pod lol. I could put them all in, but only the boost would work. Happy new year everyone! |

I'm not really planning on switching the rear bar since I think my car is pretty well setup, and the front bar is what really helps in an Auto-X. It's been on the middle (23mm) setting for a while and it's been working out well for me. Guess it depends on what you are planning on doing with the car. If you plan on Auto-Xing I would look at the 29mm Whiteline, for daily driving/track the Cusco should work well. I would definately recommend upgrading the endlinks. You can get away with reusing the stock front ones, but the rear links are long and thin and prone to break or flip, especially with an upgraded bar. Save yourself the headache and at least get some upgraded rear endlinks. I got Perrins a long time ago before the Kartboys came out, if I was doing it again I would get the Kartboys. Tom rocks and I like the bushing he uses better (less noise) then the bushing in the Perrins. Oh and mmmmmmmmm Defis! I'm hoping to get myself a set once I get back from Japan.

IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2004 Trader Rating: (7) | Just an update... I ordered something small to the mix ![]() I picked up a Samco 70MM coupler for the Intercooler to throttlebody connection in RED. The stock one is worn out, and is due for an upgrade with the APS TMIC ![]() Should be on it's way from sporthoses.com |

I'm looking into possibly dressing the engine with the SPT oil cap, and SPT battery hold down as some small toss ons

Honestly... next actual mod will most likely involve handling. I'm considering the cusco sways coupled with the Kartboy endlinks as the next step. Power wise... big decision whether to go with Meth injection or the APS DR525 FMIC. One or the other will be incorporated into my car come summer... along with another surprise with the turbo. ![]() Shall I say "Super 20G"? A new designed model through Deadbolt. How about a... 3" 20G utilizing a new 46.5lb wheel (between normal 20G and SZ49), that incorporates a 20-25% lighter prototype wheel (new design for superior spooling!) oh... and an 8CM hotside upgrade (considering the possible 8.5CM option they will have). By upgrading the hotside, I will also get rid of the "clipped" turbine that I have currently as it will no longer be necessary. Lastly the Normal 20G is not offered with the fatboy wheel currently as it is too small to be effective. According to Jerry@deadbolt it is POSSIBLE that the Fatboy may be effective on the larger 20G utilizing the 46.5lb wheel (it is offered as an option on the SZ49)... which if was the case would help spool additionally! I may just toss in the outlet porting job to finish it off. At that point I'll call it a day on the turbo

IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2004 Trader Rating: (7) | Just a small bump guys... I had my 30k service done at my local subaru as I did not have time to make the trip down to Jersey to Ian and Chris ![]() I only have 28k miles on the car, but I needed to get it done before returning to school next week. Anyways, I had a coolant flushing, rear diff/transmission oil replaced, and the cabin filter replaced. Also, I had my brakes inspected and was noted that the fluid was dirty, so that was replaced as well. Lastly... I FINALLY switched over to synthetic oil. It's about time... no more subaru dino oil. I'll be choosing my own synthetic oil by choice next time around, but I inquired about a synthetic change at the dealership and they used Castrol 5W30 synthetic. It's a start on the synthetic route, but I'll likely choose a different brand next time around! This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
