Hey Guys,

I had the tune today at AutoMaster and had a good time, and got to meet Al(RacerXS) and his SZ55 beast!

We seemed to have an issue on the top end with the APS TMIC as the possible culprit. We could not get the thing to cool down, and it robbed a great deal of power.

As for the taper on the top end, the APS TMIC seems to be the culprit at this point. Need to investigate it further with other possible cooling alternatives, or look for another possible reason.

He had boost at about 23psi and made 340 whpish, but the heatsoaked once it came, just would not go AWAY.
We had it sit with a block of ice and a fan for 20 minutes, and it still could have cooked an egg on it. UGH!

The final tune ended with boost being limited to just shy of 21 psi (20.xx psi) at 316 whp, and 330 wtq on a Dyno dynamics dyno (low reading). The car drives real nice and pulls very hard! Just don't understand that darn taper and cooling issue.

I mean alcohol injection (and others) could be a possibility but I know you want it extremely safe and conservative.

Hey John, How's break going?

It's not that the TMIC isn't cutting it (it's a quality piece), I think I just exceeded it's power range lol... I need to get to the bottom of this!

Meth is definitely a possibility. But IMO... a FMIC may be "safer" for me. Who knows?

Its going great man! Not as good as yours though

No doubt the APS is a quality build, Im just pissed about the heatsoak issue, and exceeding its cooling capacity with those numbers is no surprise! O man, I need a ride my man! Keep us all updated!!!!! BUMP for some more responses fellas!!!!

Yeah I think thats your safest bet John!! Your APS TMIC is BRAND NEW, so someone would surely give you a good deal for it so you could possibly get looking into the 525

For an extra 450.00 you could have had the DR525 and would be happy, happy, happy. My stock turbo with Dr525 and 100 oct is making 332whp and 356wtq in 85 degree weather. Good luck.I'm going to watch this thread with my fingers crossed.
