IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2005 Trader Rating: (6) | Thanks for the comments, guys. I haven't gotten her dyno'ed yet, but I'm planning on getting protuned. I want to add an aps cai first, though. ESsTeAEyEe - It's funny you like those pics...I got the JDM camera angle/shot ideas from you! I asked in your thread about how you mounted your Hellas...well when I popped off the grill I noticed those holes on the upper frame piece that you were talking about. I like them spaced out that way better.I did the tailight mod on my '04 wrx about a year ago, but haven't gotten around to doing it to the sti until recently. I love the look. Oh, and about the wheels...yes I painted them myself. I bought a second set of stockers and dismounted/sold the potenzas. I then scuffed 'em up and cleaned real well, then sprayed several light coats of Duplicolor's graphite wheel paint, followed by a few coats of their clear wheel paint. I think they turned out ok. Here's a close-up (they're a little wet in the pic but you get the idea): Last edited by SupraToWRX; 12-25-2005 at 01:20 AM. |

IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2005 Trader Rating: (77) | Wow, even close up they are real nice. I like to do many "DIY" things, but I dont want to potentially ruin a NICE set of BBS wheels. I suppose I can always have them professionally done when the time comes. How many cans did you use of the gunmetal paint? How many clears? How long does the Duplicolor paint take to dry? ** The hellas look good, I think the more spaced out the more symetrical it looks, now it looks like two flairing nostrils! ![]() Ya the look of the taillamps is awesome, Ive had the same thing done to mine! HHHMMmmmmm now..... To flap or Not to flap mine, that is the question! |

IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2005 Trader Rating: (6) | Yea I was a little nervous at first, but I figured if I messed them up, I'd just take them to get professionally done. They're only my winter wheels, so I figured wth. I went through 3 cans of color and 2 cans of clear, getting several light coats of color and clear on each. After spraying them, they'll be dry to the touch in a few hours, but won't be completely dry for a day or two. I let them sit untouched for about a week before I got the tires mounted just to be safe. Oh and def flap it! Saves the paint from all the crap they throw down on the roads around here. |
