I was thinking about doing that but I gotta put that on hold for about a month cause I am going to Vegas and spend some money. The next mods were gonna be front/rear sway bars and endlinks. I'm done with the look of the car at least for now. Time to use my money on some suspension and power mods.

Well, I got the Replica Syms wing put on the car last night and it was relatively easy if you have the right tools. Of all the sockets in the toolbox, my long 10mm socket was missing so I tried to use pliers to get the screws off and that didn't work. Luckily, my friend was at his house so we grabbed his tools and finished the install. The install should take about an hour.

My review on the quality of the wing:
It is one sexy piece of eye candy. The weave on the wing itself is topnotch...I just wished the whole wing was carbon fiber. The fitment of the wing is ok. I rate it a B+. I have it set on the middle setting right now and I took it for a spin last night. I felt alot more downforce on high speeds and you can sense the wing planting your rear end down. There is far less vibration on the wing.

Overall, I'm happy and thanks to Paperchasin for producing this product! I will take pics tomorrow and show off the wing for everyone.

Just got back from Vegas last night and I must say...I should've used the money I lost gambling on some mods Anyway, I took the car to AMS Tuning today and got my boost gauge installed. The guys that work there know exactly what they are doing and it was a relatively quick install (less than 2 hours). Kudos to AMS for their work! I also took a quick night pic of the Syms wing after a wash. I will change it tomorrow when I get a quick day shot of it.

Huh, so you gave up one of the air vents for the boost gauge? Interesting decision. Does look clean though.

Thanks for the comments. AMS was very cooperative in letting me choose the location of the boost gauge and once they got everything installed, they were extremely glad in putting it in the vent...just more publicity for them that I was glad on giving. I chose to give up one of the vents cause I rarely drive with the fans on and I like to drive with the windows down so that was an easy choice and plus the Defi gauge fit perfectly in the vent.

The install for the wing was fairly easy. The hardest part was making the paint of the winglets match the car. I hope you have a good painter! Just make sure you have a 10mm socket deep enough to get the screws off the rear deck wing. You need to remove the whole wing in order to remove the stock top part of the wing. The install should take you at least 30 mins. I took some shots this morning so I will post the pics up later tonight after I get home from work.

Yah, I told the shop exactly how I wanted it, and that there are "pitts" and stuff that they need to prime and sand down to a perfection. He said it will come out as if it was exactly like it was on the rest of the car. $130 cash....what they charge you? Thanks, pics will help too! Hows the difference? Does the rear feel its more "planted"? What setting did you use, the "middle"?

When I got the wing, there were pits and some formations on the winglet that need sanding to show a smoother look before paint. I paid around $140 for the paint. Once they painted it and I received it, the paint on the winglet is brighter than the rest of the car. The painter told me that I can bring it back for repaint but I don't have the time. Once you get it painted and don't like it, ask your painter if he has a "sun gun" in his shop. I don't know what a sun gun does but it's some kind of new painting technology that beams natural light inside a room and gives accurate paint contrast on parts. The contrast on my wing and the car is not bad at all. I think it kinda looks better with that contrast. Since you have a black STI, paint matching shouldn't be a problem at all.

Once you get the wing installed, you'll notice a more sturdy wing as it does not vibrate as much compared to the stock wing. I have it on the middle setting and it feels more planted while driving. It keeps the car also more stable on windy days IMO.
