I kid! I kid! We only did a quickie string method alignment.

Ben, does your shop give you pre-alignment numbers when you get aligned? I'm just curious what we actually dialed in just for sh!ts and giggles.

So, the wife was out of town for a few days and she left her car at home.

Her Corolla has (as far as I can find) a 19.5:1 steering ratio. I have discovered that my Q-Rack (11.5:1) has quickly made me lazy. It takes a lot of work to turn the wheel 1+ turns to take a corner. Then you have to turn it all the way back when you are done. That is no fun and takes a lot of time. I nearly jumped the curb twice trying to take a corner fast because I could not "un-turn" the wheel quick enough once I was done turning.

Two days without my car helped me appreciate it, that is for sure. Driving a 115hp or so vehicle on one day, then a 300+whp vehicle the next is quite a change. A few thing I noticed were that when stopped to turn left, cars passing at speed would make the entire car shake from the air they move. Definitely does not happen in my car. I also noticed how easy it was to turn her car, you need little effort to change direction, but that made the car feel loose and unpredictable at speed. I also noticed the huge amount of lean the car exhibits while turning.

A funny thing I just noticed on my car is that I turn the wheel so little when turning now that the turn signal does not automatically turn off most of the time. I have to do it manually now. Oh well.

It just opened my eyes to what I have come to take as granted. Sometime I forget how well Subaru and I have built this car.

Funny because it's true!
