I'll post better picts when I finish the install.

I picked up an LED light strip to act as my 3rd brake light:

The lit one is sitting on the rear glass. I am going to spray paint the body of it tomorrow so it does not jump out on the rear deck. I will also rig it up to only flash the strip now.

Hopefully it will look like the oem light found on the wing when I am done. I just don't want to A) Pay for a new rear deck and OEM light and B) See that ugly thing on my rear deck.

This cost me all of $25. Hopefully it will look good from the inside. I just need to figure out how to keep it from moving around now. Plus, with only the 3rd light blinking, it will be 66% less rice!

I imagine it flying towards the ****pit while braking hence eliminating its purpose.

you already know you're braking you don't need your 3rd brake light hitting you in the back of the head to tell ya.

I would see that as a feature... Keeps me awake during an HPDE.

I am thinking of two ways to secure it right now, one would be two or three zip ties holding it down. Kinda cheesy, but I am not sure if you'd see them with my dark tint. Or, I could get some velcro and apply it to the bottom of the light strip. Hopefully it would adhere to the rear deck.

I'm open to other ideas.

lots and lots of glue!

what about clear double sided tape? you could adhere it to the lowest part of the window. that way you get the most visibility. it might be motion in the pic but the leds look like they are tilted down. adhering them to the window would eliminate that for the most part.

it would explain why you're putting underbody lights on the vette.

He should get those LEDs that go on the wheels and can display different text or images. That way, we he passes people at the track he can taunt them!
