^^^ Agreed. Looking at others dynos shows this. If you look at the dyno I posted of my run vs an APS SR55 you can my big low end power and then it just levels off and falls below another 55lb/min turbo. As far as specs go I should be the same as that on the top end, and with the fatboy turbine I should be even higher according to deadbolt. If you extrapolate out my low end and carry it from 4000rpm on (where it chokes) you imagine where it should be.
I hope to prove this after installing the big FMIC and getting retuned/dynoed. Stay tuned.

Cicio no worries about thread jacking. Use me as your guinea pig. I've got the same turbo you are planning to get, I'm getting one of the two intercoolers you are considering and we are using the same shop(I think). Sit back and releax and let me spend my money so you don't have to and just copy what worked for me

best thing is, ASP will have hard, defineable facts on the differences/capabilities of the two i/c's and what their TRUE limitations are.....

fantastic info, IMO (at a cost, unfortunately)

ps- any decent p/c shop can coat the polished pipes. my buddies' WR pipes were ALOT cooler than my polished ons were; HUGE difference on the pipe that crosses the turbine...

Robert @ StaticX already offered to have them powdercoated red for me.

Right now it's about getting this thing running right BEFORE the track season starts in March. I need to have this running smooth and at correct power before I start tearing up the corners in it and maxing it out in the straights. Maybe once that is all sorted out I can look into coating the pipes. But until then I'm not worried about looks or the extra heat

I've got a TON of track related mods on order or waiting for warmer weather to be installed, and my car will take on a transformation similar to Bens. I'll post more about them once they arrive

understood.

but do (at the very least) consider wrapping the coldside return pipe.

im very sincere about the extreme diference in temps from the wr pipe versus my former polished one....

when's the retune scheduled, bro?

Hopefully I can get the DR725 on the car the weekend of the 14th.

Then I'll either take the first free Saturday that Tony can dyno and road retune me. If there isn't a free Saturday in January or February, I'll take a Friday off from work to get it done sooner. Still waiting to here back from Thorn on the schedule.

I've got plenty of Thermo-tec Aluminized Heat Barrier left over from my turbo wrap kit. Would adding that to the return pipe help at all?

I'm not kidding when I say plenty:

there's a neat lace-up verisopn that bruceC(residnet madman) has (i believe)...

you can even get the laces in red, IIRC

LOL. So I should wrap the return pipe(or all the pipes over the engine?) with this?

I'd probably just buy a bunch of hose clamps and secure it with them.

corset for the return pipe (only one needed, IMO)

looks like you can stealth the laces pretty much, if you "pre-lace" it up...

Thanks for the pics and links Ese!

I will just make my own using my left over materials. It looks like the same exact materials. 2-3 hose clamps should do the trick.

APS DR725 is here! Wow this thing is MASSIVE. I knew it was going to be big...but I wasn't expecting this. 4 feet wide!!!!

I can't get over the quality of these parts. Every part is DRIPPING with quality. Each one has it's own inspection sticker on it as well as part number and APS logo welded on a little plate.

I'm glad I didn't buy from a shop and just have them install it. I would have never had a chance to appreciate the quality of this thing.

I'll install it on Saturday and the retune is on the 28th. Hoping to find that missing power on the top end!
