Default First Mods

I started off my modifications with a Helix Catless downpipe and a Cobb Tuning AccessPort. I flashed in the Stage II 93 octane map and dropped in a K&N Panel filter in the stock airbox. I also removed the intake silencer. The change was absolutely awesome. The car definately should have come like this from the factory! Well, maybe with a cat installed...

282whp/307ft-lb
Compared to the 246 or so that the stock STi put down this was a very nice run!

Really nice pics man. I love that color. If I could do it all over again I would have gone for CGM.

Update:
Pics coming soon...

In the interest of tightening up the suspension for some track days and autox, I have installed Cusco front and rear sway bars, Cusco titanium front and carbon fiber rear strut bars, and a Cusco Type II lower brace. Coming in July is my set of Zeal V6 coilovers with the soft spring rates.

For more power I have a Stromung resonator eliminator pipe, and an APS short ram pod intake with custom mounting bracket, and a Cobb Street Tuner. I purchased the ST to make room for my future plans of adding a Deadbolt 20G and of course injectors and fuel pump. As of right now my goal for the future is 350whp.

To combat my added power I also have a set of Pagid track spec brake pads for the front and rear, goodridge steel braided lines, and fluid.

Like I said, pictures are soon to follow! Thanks to Myles at Racecomp Engineering for the suspension and brakes, and thanks to FineLine Imports for the Cobb parts.

Wow, those pictures in the first post are gorgeous. They do a fantastic job of showing the different character of the CGM color under different lighting conditions. I especially enjoy how it picks up a rich golden hue at dusk and dawn, and your pictures captured that nicely.

Cheers!

New Update:

Still waiting on pictures...

I have installed a Defi BF Amber boost gauge on the steering column, and hidden the control unit in the center console. The install almost appears stock due to the perfect match provided by the Defi boost gauge. Other "bling" items in the interior include an STi titanium shift knob, and OEM Subaru blue floor mats. Along with the shift knob I installed an STi Group N transmission mount, and Cobb Tuning shifter bushings. Im not certain whether I should get a short shifter or not, so thats still on the maybe list.

Next to come in July, some kind of wheels and Zeal V6 coilovers with soft springs. I had planned on getting some Enkei's but apparently, they don't fit the 05 STi. Right now Im leaning towards some 18x8.5 Work Emotions in Gunmetal.

What does the future hold? Definately a fuel pump and injectors, probably a turbo upgrade, maybe a new intercooler, and probably some exterior bits that I will hold close to my chest for the time being. Stay tuned for pictures in the coming days/week.

EDIT: Pics are lost...

Ok, so they're not that cool. But its cooler than just a bunch of words right???

Defi Boost gauge:night...
No more pic

Custom bracket for APS Short ram intake:
No more pic

Apparently, us '05 drivers have a different coolant tank or whatever it is that the intake should mount to. I decided that having the intake flappin about all willy nilly was not good so I made this cheapo thing out of aluminum. May not be too pretty but it works!

Happen to have a pic of where you Tee'd connected for the Defi BF turbo gauge? I think I buggered mine up. It doesn't pull ANY negatives at all.. hmm.

I recently dyno'd the car in its current configuration with a Forge BOV added. The only changes since the original dyno chart are the BOV and the APS SRI. Since the dyno run the BOV has been removed and put in the "when I need it" pile. The reason for this is a 40whp loss after the install of the 2 parts. Im not sure which one is causing it, but Im hoping that I can use my street tuner to get the results Im looking for from the SRI. Im sure the easy way would be to go back to stock airbox, but this is a good way for me to learn the ST. With plans for a 20g in the not too distant future, I think its time I learned this new software. As far as my next run on the dyno, currently Xotic Motorsports' dyno is down due to an electrical storm, so I will have to wait a little bit. I do plan on gettin on the dyno soon though, possibly within the next week or so.

Below is a comparison of the original dyno run, and the run with APS SRI and Forge BOV installed.

Wow, that boost gauge location completely wipes out your coolant temperature gauge. If you ever think of moving it, this thread has pictures of where I put mine:
