car looks great - are you planning on tuning your car yourself with the addition of the aem uego?

Also - where did you purchase the aem uego from?

Love the rear wing / car color.

Thanks. I won't be tuning myself on a $50k (effectively) car for a long time! The UEGO is a great safety tool to me. I got the UEGO from Tuning Factory, formerly Godspeed, here on the forum, he had the best price I could find and shipped it very fast to me.

I Installed my pitch mount today. It's an easy install. I've removed the TMIC so many times now that it's a breeze...

that uppipe looks good and so doesnt the new pitch stopper, did you only notice the break in it when you took off the intercooler or did you feel it when you were driving?

I heard more pop-type noises when under hard acceleration right after gear changes but thought it might be my struts clunking or something. Once I installed the new mount yesterday and took it for a drive - nothing popped (except my rear struts... of course).

Over the past week or so I have been getting parts for my new header setup together. I started off with a TiC X-Pipe with the ceramic coating and Remflex gaskets. Clint got this to me extremely fast and it was a very nice looking piece.

Next I contacted Justin at Grimmspeed about a PnP job on a stock header. I was immediately impressed with his professionalism and prompt responses to both my emails and instant messages. I ordered a set of his PnP stockers with Remflex gaskets as well. It took about a week to get it done which is completely reasonable seeing all of the work that Grimmspeed had to do. I got the ceramic coating on the header pieces as well and they really looked very nice.

LH section:

And here is a shot of the whole package:

I installed it all in about 90 minutes. It only took me that long because I had to do an oil change as well. I was 200 miles from hitting 3000 plus my oil pressure sensor is mounted in a Greddy oil sandwich adapter which protrudes a good bit from the oil cooler/filter assembly. When swapping from stock to the Perrin EL header I had to change the direction that the sensor was facing so that it didn't hit any header runners - therefore I had to move it back. No big deal - just took a little extra time. The Remflex gaskets were awesome. They crushed a good bit and made a great seal - I would highly recommend them to anyone that will be installing a header/up pipe.

Once I got the header installed (F*** that front O2 sensor, btw), oil in the car, and the car on the ground - I fired it up. Wow... imagine that... NO LEAKS ! The header sounds very stock-ish but it is a tad louder and more throaty. Mostly I attribute this to the TiC X-Pipe but I can definately tell that boost builds faster with the stock designed cast iron header than it did with the Perrin EL. Power seems to be much more linear like the Perrin EL was but personally I think the car feels a tad faster and doesn't loose as much boost up in the higher RPM range. Overall, this was a killer mod and I am back to my unequal length Suby sound with plenty of performance with the new setup - happy for now.

Default Re: JPWEraser's Vanilla Deliciousness**Updated 6/24/07** Perrin Inlet & AftaMAF installed

I ordered a black Perrin V2 inlet (reinforced) and AftaMAF last week and got it installed today. Getting the stock one out was a pain in the butt... I finally just resided to cutting everything off of the stock one and once I did that, it slid out like butter. The Perrin one wasn't near as bad to install without taking the manifold off as I had read, but that's not to say it was really easy either. I just sprayed it down with some soapy water and shoved it in place. I thought the inlet/turbo coupling would be a pain but it slid on without a fuss. It did take a little time to get the crank case vent hoses and purge seleniod hose trimmed and remounted but that wasn't so bad. My first impressions are positive overall. It seems to be a small amount better at keeping boost up at high RPM and the turbo/bpv are definately louder. If anyone has specific questions or needs tips on the install, just post here or shoot me a PM. On to pics:

Here are a few pics a friend of mine shot at a local meet on Sunday. He's pretty handy with a camera.

Ever run across a deal that you just can't pass up?... I both love and hate those. I ran across one last week and it got the best of me. It's a little something from our Japanese friends at Do Luck... I will post pictures when I get the car cleaned up - I just got back from a 2,300+ mile road trip.

Teaser...

I am going to bug one of my friends to take some shots of the car in somewhere nicer than my garage in better lighting conditions than under fluorescent lights soon. But for now, here's my Do Luck hood. I also did a DIY Ese style grill and I love it.

Is there any weight savings with that hood?
