Yeah there's a good 20lb(ish) difference between the two. After driving it a good bit last night I can tell a nice top end difference - seems like the VF39 isn't running out of gas quite as much - yayz!

For those interested, I stripped the top portion of the heat shield off of my stock up pipe. No more rattle! It was rather easy, just took a lot of tugging and some patience. The car sound sooooo good now.

Here's 2 short videos taken with a new camera (was playing with it, I was actually pretty impressed with the video quality). EL headers make a huge difference in sound and I really do like it. First up is just a slow 1st to 2nd with the car cold.

<embed width="430" height="389" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://s6.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid6.photobucket.com/albums/y210/JPWEraser/DSCF0054.flv"></embed>

Second is a quick 30mph-80mph run with the car warm.

The CEL is my botched front o2 sensor which I am trying ever so diligently to replace so that's not normal; otherwise, the car runs great. I am selling my DEFI EGT gauge since I prefer not to drill/tap/bung my new header and would rather have a wideband anyways. In it's place, I've ordered an AEM UEGO. I am selling my DEFI clock pod and have already ordered a Lotek triple gauge A-Pilar pod in light gray. I will have DEFI Boost, DEFI Oil Pressure, and AEM UEGO on my pilar then - should be sweet. I also decided to go for a quieter exhaust than my HKS Carbon-Ti. I've enjoyed having it ever since I bought it in 2005, but my tastes have changed a little bit and I really believe that the car can be a monster with the EL header without having to make all the noise. Anyone want to hazard a guess as to what exhaust I went with?! Everything should be here by the end of the week, I'm stoaked!

Mmmmm. More gauge goodness. Got my AEM UEGO today. Really nice looking unit. I am just waiting on my Lotek pod to come in and I'll be doing some work on the car.

Yeah, I'm anxious to get it installed. I figured my pod would be here by now but I'm sure it won't be much longer.

Thanks! I've sold the Syms, though - it's moved on to another deserving member of IWSTI.com for its new home

Yeah, me too! Devin is awesome and in very high demand at the moment between his work with Sport Compact Car and other various shoots. He wants to shoot my car but neither of us have had much time to get together on a good day to do it. Hopefully sometime this Spring/Summer I can get one done.

So I've sold my Syms wing (to a very deserving fellow IWSTI member), DEFI EGT gauge, and DEFI clock pod. My Lotek pod finally shipped this morning and I should have my mystery exhaust mid next week at the latest. More updates when I get some stuff in.
