That's strange.

I ordered 4 pairs of sliders from my vendor for a friend and I and while we don't have them yet, they didn't mention any issues getting them.

In this episode of Ben's Useless Numbers we have a whole bunch of plastic.

From left to right we have:
- B-pillar top / seat belt covers
- Sun Visors
- B-pillar bottom covers
- Steel front seatbelt brackets / sliders
- Ceiling Handles? (I just call them 'Oh ****' handles ...what is the proper name?)
- Plastic front seatbelt spacers / brackets
- Front door sill covers

Weight: 7 lbs.

The list of pieces above will just be referred to as "front plastic pieces" on the list of interior weight reduction items.

The updated interior weight count is now at 167.5 lbs.

I ran out of daylight so the roof lining and other pieces will come out tomorrow along with a few other things that I missed. I must say, taking little bits and pieces out for half an hour each day is much more fun than doing it all at once.

It certainly does. I'll take pics tomorrow when the roof lining is gone and the interior is complete.

They won't be here for a while (a month maybe?) because they have to come by boat. After seeing how much interest there was for them I ordered even more, so you don't need to worry about missing out on one. I will make several posts when they arrive and I think I'll start collecting pre-orders for people that want to be guaranteed one when they get here.

Yes, I'm looking at different lightweight glass/plastic possibilities right now.

The Spec C managed to drop over 40 pounds using thinner glass so I might just end up ordering Spec C windows.

Haha I've never thought about it before, but do racers go on diets to reduce their own weight as well, before racing season?

F1 drivers have to do quite a bit to stay fit to drive. There is a video showing some of the things they have to do. It is a 5th Gear video where Tiff Needell is allowed to drive a BMW F1 car versus Vicki in a M5. I think it was on google video... someone posted it here or some other subie forum... its pretty cool!

In this episode of Ben's Useless Numbers we have the roof liner, dome lights, and a-pillar covers.

After removing all the clips and screws I attempted to pull out the roof liner:

Unfortunately, the roll cage made this much more difficult that it normally would be so I had to resort to drastic measures:

After the liner was cut in half I could pull it out and weigh it:

Weight: 3 lbs

Here is a picture of what the roof looks like with no roof liner (with all the roof reinforcement and other brackets still in):

Pulling the roof liner for 3 pounds may seem like a waste, but that wasn't the main reason for taking it out. The roof liner is held in by the A-pillar covers, dome lights, and roof handles. Once you take those out the roof is basically ready to fall off, or in my case, rest on top of the roll cage. The roof liner also hides lots of reinforcement brackets and other protective metal to protect you if you roll your car. Obviously with a roll cage these brackets are fairly useless, so removing the roof liner gives you access to these brackets so you can take them out.

Here are the A-pillar covers, dome lights, and the rear roof brackets:

Weight: 5.5 lbs

Once again, I ran out of light so my 30-minute mod session had to come to an end. I will finish removing the roof reinforcement and other metal brackets tomorrow along with the passenger side airbag (the only one left). If everything stays on schedule the AC will be removed on Sunday.

Also, some of you were asking for a picture of my center console (or lack thereof) so here you go. It's not very beautiful

And I almost forgot! New interior weight total: 174 lbs.
