It's time for another installment of Ben's Useless Numbers!

First on the list we have the STi center console from the ash tray / shifter back (minus the actual shifter boot):

Weight: 7 lbs

Then we have the unpainted & dusty Spec C aluminum trunk lid:

OEM Aluminum Spec C (pictured): 11 lbs
OEM Steel (stock): ~22 lbs without spoiler; ~31 lbs with stock spoiler (will be verified shortly )
Seibon Carbon Fiber: 9 lbs

OEM fitment and quality at the cost of 2 lbs, not bad! I'll weigh the stock trunk lid and spoiler (as well as the C-West CF spoiler) when I take it off in a few weeks. I am just waiting for the C-West spoiler to arrive.

P.S. If anyone wants a JDM Spec C trunk there were 4 left in stock at SoJDM when I picked mine up today. Tell them that Ben sent you http://sojdm.com/productcart/pc/view...&idproduct=115

I just got back from picking up the fender. The trunk and fender are going in for paint tomorrow .

Anyway, here is a pic of the unpainted fender:

Weight: 4.9 lbs.

With a weight like that, it kind of makes you wonder why people buy carbon fiber fenders doesn't it?

I have absolutely no idea what the price is going to be right now, but I am having a very limited production run of 4 more fenders made for those of you that want one.

They take a good deal of time to make because each one is hand crafted using an OEM Subaru STi fender (perfect fitment). Anyway, I'll let you know when I have more details.

The Subaru fenders are steel, not aluminum.

Still very light however.

Wow...I assumed it was aluminum because it was under 5 pounds! I stand corrected .

Anyway, here is today's episode of Ben's Useless Numbers:

Stock STi Stereo:

Weight: 7.5 lbs

I was hoping for 10 pounds, but no such luck. The head unit is the majority of the weight at almost 6 pounds.

Here is the recap of interior weight now that the stereo and center console are out:

Remove spare tire: 33 lbs
Remove rear door panels: 6 lbs
Remove rear seat bottom: 10 lbs
Remove rear seat bottom bar & supports: 11 lbs
Remove rear seat back: 8 lbs
Remove rear seat back vertical bars: 3.5 lbs
Remove rear seat belts / deck lid / other plastic panels: 12.5 lbs
Remve rear seat belt bracket: 2 lbs
Remove front seat belts: 8 lbs
Remove all carpet: 7 lbs
Replace stock steering wheel with NRG quick release: 5 lbs
Replace stock seats with Recaro Pole Position (with steel sliders / brackets): 40 lbs
Remove Stereo: 7.5 lbs
Remove Center Console: 7 lbs

New interior total: 160.5 pounds

Total weight savings (interior + exterior) after aluminum trunk, CF spoiler, & AC Removal: ~390 lbs

What's the deal with the missing aluminum side mounts?

Recaro can't seem to get their **** together. I'm trying to get them but I have too many things that I'm trying to do at once and I don't have time to call and bug them every day.

Lol, I wouldn't be surprise if you have been fasting for the last several weeks just so that you will drop even more weight off the car.

I'm not exactly fasting, but I am definitely trying to loose some more weight .

Speaking of loosing weight, it looks like Sunday (or maybe Saturday) is going to be the day that the AC comes out. I just need to collaborate with my camera crew so we can do the how-to video for HSPN .
