wow to get the AC compressor you had to cut that plastic piece on the right hand side? looks good without that there IMO. Just a big heavy chunk of metal...

You don't have to cut the plastic, but without the compressor there, there is nothing to hold it down. The right side of the plastic bolts to the compressor itself so the only way to keep it from flapping around was to cut it in half .

I was going to suggest that you use the jack on the tongue of the trailer to tilt the trailer when you load the car on it... but I see you had your floor jack up there, so I assume you already do that?? If not, it's worth jacking up a little to make the ramp entrance straighter, that'll gain you a couple more milimeters when you load/unload. We do that all the time with our 10,000 double axel when we load our tractors or my Camaro.

Nice looking rig!

Where are you going to get another 60 pounds of unnecessary weight to remove from your car?

Lighter glass & an aluminum sub frame is more than 60 lbs, and that's just to start .

Alright guys, the protune was today so I finally have some numbers for you .

Stock turbo / engine / intake / etc. This is just a Cobb TBE & the CF Driveshaft...

Baseline (stage 2 off the shelf map):
280 whp
300 wtq

Protune:
307 whp
379 wtq

Graphs coming soon . And for those wondering, this was on an AWD Dynojet.

The coolest part is not the peak numbers but the area under the curve. The car is making 300 to 307 whp from 4700 RPM all the way to 6000 RPM. It starts making 250whp at 3500 RPM and eventually drops to 275whp at 7000 RPM. The torque curve is pretty similar to the regular stage 2 (max torque around 3500) but the extra 79 torque is definitely nice! It appears that the CF driveshaft and/or lightweight rotors didn't show up in the peak numbers but more in the shape of the curve (flat powerband up top).

Oops, left that part out .

That was the 110 octane map. It's VERY safe / conservative, we purposely heat soaked the intercooler and kept doing dyno runs to make sure there would never be problems when the car got hot on the track. If I really cared about "bragging rights" we could have let the car cool down and do a run just for numbers, but it wasn't very important to me. Reliability & Safety > Big Numbers .

The 91 octane map put out:

285 whp
339 wtq

Again, the peak numbers are kind of useless, there are places where the 91 protune was making 40 more whp than the stage 2, but when you just look at peak numbers it only looks like we picked up 5 whp.

I still have a few things that need to be finished on the car (like a custom seat bracket for the new seat so I can actually sit in it with a helmet...) but if everything is finished in time I would go.

I have another day at Buttonwillow on July 12th if you're interested. Slightly more expensive, but as usual, only 12 cars. (I think we have 10 cars right now).

Once again, it's time for some useless numbers .

First, we have the windshield wipers and motor:

Windshield wipers: 3 lbs
Wiper motor: 6 lbs
Total: 9 lbs and some Aero drag reduction

I never realized how big the wiper motor was, but check it out:

What it looks like with the motor gone:

The car looks pretty good without the wipers. I definitely like it better:

Next on the list is to remove these 6.5 lb, JDM HID bad boys:

And replace them with these 2 lb hollowed out WRX lights:

I was going to just use the front glass which weighed 1 lb, but I thought it was worth the extra pound to put in the reflective trim and the housing. It looks much better that way, and as crazy as I am, I'm even willing to sacrafice 1 lb for looks . We'll probably do some blue tint on the lights as well with a standard headlight protection kit. I could care less about the protection, but it should make it harder to see that there's nothing inside the headlight . If the blue doesn't look good, we may just black them out or do more white vinyl...we'll see.

After the swap, the net reduction should be 9 lbs from the lights, and they're as close to the front of the car as you can get, not to mention high up as far as the center of gravity is concerned.
