Ben, all I have to say is wow what a great journal. I would like to know where you got the APR splitter, I see that they are one of your sponsors but I cant seem to find anyone who retails them. Thanks

Dustin

APR sells them direct: http://store.aprperformance.com/prod...ae45516f2cdb00

They take about 3-5 days to build and ship .

I'll look in to this. Thanks.
The stock tank isn't baffled enough, and the Walbro pump dosent pick up any lower than the stock pump.

If you have the walbro pump pumping into the top of a surge tank (IDK what I was thinking with sump), then have an outlet at the bottom of the tank for a small InLine fuel pump (one of those AeroMotive ones would work great), You'd be guaranteed not to hit fuel cut.

At the top of the surge tank, you'd have a hose going to the top of the stock fuel tank, so the walbro pump would sit there and pump fuel into the surge tank, and if the surge tank is already full, it just goes back into the stock tank. The return line from the stock fuel system would go into the top of the surge tank also.

If you do get a surge tank system, make sure that the inline pump does not flow more than the walbro, and that the walbro is getting a constant 12V.

Ben,

how do you think your intake mod would work with a FMIC?

i am tooling around with doing something simular...

using both the fog light pnnles as brake duct vents, and doing the intake modd some what like you did.... but, my intake is no longer stock....

when i had the stock air box with the ram air ducting mod like your`s i did notice a differance.

summer is coming and i am looking for any cooling help i can get...

Oil starvation is an inssue on most cars when you hit high G's. Most cars really aren't designed for super high G cornering. It's not something you would notice at first; maybe a slight drop in pressure from your oil pressure gauge. However, after a few months, it could turn in to a serious problem, and eventually engine failure. It's not something that would happen right away, like going through one turn and having the engine shut off , but even at retail prices the accusump is only $200, so that's definitely a cheap price to pay to save my motor.

cool cool, i was just wondering. I mean you are taking your Sti to about twice the handling limits of a regular sti

how is the search for a better tank/fuel pump going? have you had the car just shut off in a corner? i remember you saying at less than a third is started to do something.

I think you should just bite the bullet and make it a TII racer.

In some corners, and during some elevation changes, if the tank is below 1/3, I'll loose acceleration for a second, have to let off the gas, and get back on it. It's very similar to the fuel cut you would get from say an over-boost CEL code, the only difference is my CEL and cruise control light don't come on .

Oh, and as for the wheels, they didn't ship yet (of course ). I'm calling them today to ***** them out and hopefully get the wheels shipped out.

Some people were asking for pictures of the interior of my car (if you can call it that ) and I went looking through this thread. I was suprised to find that I haven't taken any pictures of the interior since everything came out. There were a few pics when it was in an intermediate stage, but not completed (or close to it).

Anyway, here is what the inside of the car looks like now (not pretty, but I love it ):

Driver view (kind of :

Center console (lap timer / TEIN edfc in place of stereo):

You can see DCCD controls here:

Passenger side:

The rear:

The pretty blue roof:

And my new toy, that I installed after taking these pictures because I'm an idiot

Some of the extra wiring (such as the yellow airbag cables that are no longer connected to airbags, or an airbag controller) still need to come out, but this is a pretty good representation of what it looks like on the inside.

I just leave the spare in there when it's not at the track. Once I have the trailer and a complete set of spare wheels / tires is in it, I won't bother leaving it back there .
