As requested by various sponsors, all sponsor logos (instead of just links) are now displayed in my Member's Gallery located here:

http://www.iwsti.com/forums/vbpicgal...hp?do=view&g=1

The rest of the stickers (for all of the sponsors listed above) should be on the car by the end of this week. Stay tuned .

This is a great way to organize a long journal such as this one. Well done!

Alright guys, today was very productive!

First off, I set up the car with a new alignment that I'm VERY happy with. The car is much more responsive and turns in even better than before (if that's even possible). Here are the specs:

Front Camber: -2.3°
Rear Camber: -1.7°
Front Toe: -0.25° (total -0.50°)
Rear Toe: 0.00°

Basically, we added a little extra camber in the front to help with tire wear, left the rear the same (tire wear is good), added some more toe-out to the front, and removed all the toe-in from the rear. The original fear was that the car would get squirrely under heavy braking without any toe-in in the rear but this was not the case. I am certainly glad we experimented with it, because after taking the toe-in out of the rear the car is nicely balanced and rotates much better. The extra toe-out in the front also helps quite a bit with turn-in response .

Next, and probably most exciting, was the APR carbon fiber front wind splitter install. We had to take the front bumper off the car to drill what seemed like a million holes (really only 8 ) and while the bumper was off I took the opportunity to install the JDM lightweight bumper beam and shave another 18 lbs off the front of the car. After drilling the bumper and the splitter and cutting up a v-limited lip spoiler, we installed everything...and boy was it worth it!

This thing looks amazing . It really ties in well with the APR carbon fiber mirrors and the C-West carbon fiber wing. The v-limited middle piece cut-out worked perfectly and the gap in the middle is 99.9% sealed (as close as you're ever going to get). I could immediately feel a difference with the downforce in the front even on our little test run. The front of the car gets SUCKED to the ground at around 70 mph and at 120+ mph the front end is so planted it's ridiculous.

It's safe to say that this splitter wouldn't do much (besides look REALLY cool) for most people (daily driving or autocross) but if you are taking the STI to the track often I highly recommend getting one of these. The install is a giant pain, but it's definitely worth it. The increase in front/rear balance and overall handling ability at 70-80+ mph (when aero starts to kick in) is down right amazing. I will be at Buttonwillow on Monday and I'll have some more comprehensive reports then. The full potential of this splitter can only be seen on a race track.

Anyway, seeing as how it's pitch black outside and my camera can't take pictures at night worth a ****, I'll be sure to get some pics up for you guys tomorrow morning. Sorry for the tease, but pics will be up soon enough .

Pictures! In the third to last picture you can really see how well the cut up STI V-limited spoiler worked out for this project . The car also looks pretty clean considering it's been raining for the past 4 days and it's filthy .
