I have never once promoted a product and not backed it up with real information though . You never even gave me a chance today. I told you that APR was going to send the stuff on Friday and before I even get a chance to put it on the car and let you know what my impressions were you started bombarding me with things like:

"its pure show and no go..."
"that splitter looks gross "

You can see why I might get the wrong impression right? Those kinds of comments don't make me think you're curious or asking questions at all.

Once again, you weren't asking a question, but I'll give you an answer anyway.

It's not at all a street car, nor is it street legal. I no longer drive it to the track, the registration is not going to be renewed, and it no longer has regular car insurance. I don't see how you could call a car with no interior, no seat belts, no airbags, (no air conditioning this week), and a roll cage a street car, but that's your opinion. As far as a category, it's currently in NASA Class B with the mods it has. This class is where Porsche 996 Turbos, Corvette C6's, and the like, start in stock. Right now my car pulls near identical (or faster) lap times to Porsche GT3's, GT2's, Ferrari 360 CS's and 430's so it's safe to say that my car can most definitely compete with (and destroy) any of those class B cars. I don't exactly see how it "couldn't be a competitor." I might also add that when you go to a car show and see "race cars" 90% of them don't even run, so my car is more of a race car than most of the cars you would see at SEMA or other shows.

A stiffer suspension hops over them, and everytime the suspension gets upset by a bump, you lose traction and you're slower.

A lot of people thought it was strange to run the TEIN's on my car, but after going for a ride, the questions went away . Basically, other than some infinitely adjustable $4,000+ setup, the TEIN's are the way to go; atleast for me. Right now there is more time to be made with Aero and weight loss than changing my suspension. It's very well dialed in right now, so it's one of those "don't fix it if it ain't broken" type of deals.
I'm glad to hear this, as I was wanting to go with TEIN's when I upgrade my suspension. I'll have no worries now.

I think the middle section of a v limited lip would be the perfect fit and I already suggested that a few posts back. Obviously hacking up a real V-limited lip would be a waste of money so I suggested a cheap replica.

First off, that is awesome! Congrats and now you can call it a true "race" car. What are you using to tow it to the track? Enclosed or open trailer? Any pics. (these are just questions nothing more)

Again for the record last you told me, it had a plate, registration and you didn't have a way to tow it to the track so you were driving it in race form to and from the track. THAT's why I considered it a street car. Nor sure where the SEMA comment came from but I don't care at all about "show cars" that's not my thing and never has been. If someone wants to dump thousands of dollars into making a show race car whatever I don't have any interest.

Hope we are on the same page now.

There is nothing wrong with asking questions or questioning someones motive for doing a certain mod. I didnt think you did anything wrong aspen.

I think that's a great idea. I will probably end up sacrificing a TRU lip spoiler and we'll see how it works .

I borrowed a friends truck and enclosed trailer the last 2 events, but I am getting rid of the wagon on thursday (sniffle ) and picking up a new F150 with the 5.6L V8. They're pretty cheap with the rebates that are going on now and tow 9,000 lbs, so I couldn't say no.

I will probably be borrowing a friend's trailer for a month or so until I decide on which one to get. I would like an enclosed one, but I don't know if I can justify it . I will most likely cheap out and get an open trailer.

You definitely will not be disapointed. They ride better than stock on the street and are AWESOME on the track. They also drop about 30 lbs off your car and are VERY reasonably priced. In fact, the only negative things you ever hear about the TEIN's is that they are going to be "low quality" or "garbage" because they're so cheap. Couldn't be further from the truth . I have the Whiteline Group 4's on my wagon that cost about $1000 more than the TEIN's and the TEIN's are superior in every way: more comfortable for street, better track peformance, higher quality, and EDFC just plain rocks.

hey ben, have you seen those canards on the front fenders of the STi that ran in that 24hr race, car and driver covered it their editor was one of the drivers. I think it was a ESX run STi. Anyway they had custom canards on the fenders, I cant remeber a lot of the details but I was wondering if you have seen those.

The ones that looked like giant wings coming out the fenders? I saw it in some magazine...those things were rediculous! They stuck out about a foot. Looked like more drag than downforce to me, but I wouldn't be suprised if they really worked.

Found it!

I find it funny that they have wings coming out of the fenders (presumably for aerodynamics) but have the stock mirrors.

Sorry if someone already asked this, but is the fender dangerous to use when it's wet out due to water ingestion? Or is there something to prevent that?

Bad idea.......Personally being in the Honda Challenge, USTCC, and World Challenge, I would say get the enclosed trailer. A little more now will save you the pain and heartache later. Trust me, we went from a open to an enclosed trailer. Especially for us, we run no drivers side and passenger side window, so if it rains, tough pooh!! Also and enclosed unit will give you shelter, use it as a changing room, and power napping room. Also great for saving money on hotels, just sleep in it over night, and use the facilities at the track instead. All in all enclosed is a much better option to go for, there are countless reasons as to why you should get one. Good luck, hope to see you on the track sometime soon.

You could easily mate it up with the stock water drain, but the way mine is set up there is no drain. It's a direct line / vacuum so I stuff a rag in it when I wash the car, and I never drive in the rain so that's not a problem.
