Jay,
do you currently own all of those cars in your sig?

If so, you're my hero.

i actually want something to break instead of the tranny, don. replacing axles seems like the least painful alternative as long as they don't take out the diff.

Those are the current performance cars that I own, or are owned by one of my companies. Except the Elise is being built right now and I should have it in November.

Modifying cars has always been my desire, but it took 14 years of Univertsity before I could make enough money to do it.

Phil has told me that he usually targets 14.7 in most cars, but has to target in the 12 range on cars that have head porting. I don't have head porting, but significant porting before the heads which I'm thinking my account for some of my problems.
i'm still using phil's base tune for his own car. we plugged the laptop into the hydra ecu for the first time yesterday, so we're only now getting into the software and tuning tools, now. youre WAY ahead of us at this point, especially me. ricky is much more comfortable with the software at this point than i am. we're headed down to md in a few weeks to have phil tune it. my goal until then is pretty modest, i.e., to just get as familiar with hydra as i can in the meantime. we'll be back at it again tonight, tuning guide in hand.

we did a complete port match back to the gaskets on everything on both the intake and exhaust side. i'd have gone bonkers on the heads, too, but phil was concerned that his base tune would be off, since his heads are stock.

keep me up to date on your progress. if you have a thread started anywhere, please pm me a link.

ps - i just noticed...you have a spearco top mount with that set-up?

hey getterdragun! your b&b recommendation was one of the best of the build. thanks.

i have that driver's school on the 29th. i'd like to head there first at this point. if there are dates in nov., i will probably make it down to englishtown before the season ends. if youre headed down let me know.

also, i'm going to the "big diner" meet at applebee's in edison, ny on 10/1 and picking eatv8 up on the way down. i'd love to meet everyone if you can make it. i've been told 50 sti's are signed up from iwsti and nasioc.

Bruce,

Thats what I was afraid of. I was using Phils basemap for the 2.65L, but it wasn't even close to making the car driveable. I had to dump ALOT more fuel in even to get it to idle. So I'm still trying to find out what the problem is.

The spearco TMIC is the largest topmount you can get and can flow much more than a GT35R can make. This is the setup that Ultimate Racing designes their GT35R Kit for. I hate the lag you get with all the FMIC piping, and I'll be using tonnes of methanol/water to cool everything down which compensates for the warmer temps usually seen with a TMIC.

50 Scoobis, not all STi's... Will mainly be WRX's I would think. with some STi's, FXT's and LGT's... Then of course our non-turbo scoobi brothers.

here's the trunk mounted eddie marine billet battery box w/ optima red top. we ran .o welding cable along the side rail and up into the trunk. it still needs some kind of cover to protect the terminals. i'll have pics of the undercarriage, including the battery cable, exhaust and bracing install posted later.

the roll cage is not installed yet. i'll probably do it at the begining of next season.

in my case, there really is no college program to learn what i do for a living. i'm an inventor, author and businessman with 43 worthless college credits from 2 community colleges from 30 years ago. i graduated from hs living in a tent pitched back in the woods the last 5 weeks of my senior year. somewhere, there is a diploma out there with my name on it but i've never seen it.

in my 20's and 30's i created a (verbal and physical) crisis intervention technology for managing aggressive, suicidal and out-of-control people without hurting them (key words, without hurting them). we have about 800 agencies nationwide that use our training program. i'm also a martial artist and defensive tactics instructor with my own defensive tactics system. i have a patent for the only physical technique in us patent history. altogether, i've got 12 us patents (3 granted, 9 pending) to protect our new line of "client protection products" and mechanical restraint equipment. we manufacture most of our products right here at my facility in gardiner. i sublet the shop section of the bldg. to little ricky. i'm also a licensed federal firearms dealer (ffl) and have a small gun store in my house.

that's it. other than that i'm a total slug.
