I cant help but think the tolerances were too large between cylinder wall and ring. I mean..for a motor to have all 4 jugs fail a leakdown with a new motor? Nothing catsrophic happened diring this gentle drive right? |

i just talked to jeremy and got his diagnosis on the longblock. he repeated the leakdown test and got a much different result. 3 out of 4 cylinders did 5% cold, which is great, with the overlap in the cams responsible for that. one cylinder was way off with a 16%, which was leaking from the exhaust valve(s) due to a timing issue with one or both of the lobes on that cylinder. in summary, the shortblock is in great shape after all and it looks like a cam correction will solve the problem. pinch me (isfh). | |
