while all that devastation was taking place 5 miles away at the shop, usp was delivering the new "G-Force" 5 point 3" harnesses.

the pic sucks but check out the lever on the cam release. like most of my close-ups, it looks better as a thumbnail (isfh).

nope. i just have sirius pumped through the stock system. i don't want an aftermarket system because 1. i'd rather listen to the cacophony of sounds that is the car and it's easier for me to rev match when i can hear the engine, for one thing and 2. almost 50 years of rock, heavy/death metal and ganster rap and 20 years of skydiving without ear protection and i'm just about deaf. the stock system limits how loud i can turn it up. a decent system would finish me off and i'm too old to learn sign language.

we removed the door panels to mitigate the hazards posed to the interior when ricky starts welding in the cage. as it is, we're going to have to blanket all the glass and the dash from all the sparks. of course, i'll do a full report with pics on how we engineer and execute it.

Bruce,
Since you are so far dissasembled and going to weld why don't you go ahead and seam weld the chassis like Prodive does for the rally cars. It is supposed to help chassis stiffness a lot.

i'll suggest that to ricky.

right now we're planning on going through the floor and welding the cage on to square steel tubbing runners along both sides. this thing will be pretty thoroughly braced when we're done.

Looks like you and Ben have competing racecar threads

You've got him on engine mods, and it appears he's got you on weight savings

Bruce,
I was gonna say you oughta send a shirt to Quirt, but he'd probably just argue with you about the arm to sleeve clearance. I can't wait to see how you do when you get that sucker rollin. Good luck!

after talking with ricky about it i realized we had already discussed the issue only in different terms. we're doing it selectively and strategically rather than going completely nutz. (it is possible i've already gone completely nutz)
