| S204 Racer | Well, they said the same thing about the Miata and Viper too, when they first came out. However, in this case you may be right...but it's still a roll of the dice. I'd scour the whole country by email and fax if I really wanted one that badly; you'll find MSRP or close to it somewhere. After that, it's just a one-way plane ticket and a nice break-in drive home. Who knows - maybe you can even take Japan delivery, have a little vacation, and then ship it home? Both are worth looking into. |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2003 Trader Rating: (1) | well gentlemen... update: gt-r us how does gun metal w/ a black interior sound? good, because i just put a 5k deposit on one; minus the premium package bose audio and side curtain air bags. i'm deaf and i don't want the added weight. as for negotiations, he wanted 20k over. i said i'd write a check for 20k right then IF he sold it to me for 10 over. he came back with 12.5k over. i said i needed a day to think about it and left the showroom and got into the cuc v. as i was pulling out of the parking space he ran outside and said the owner just text messaged back to accept 10k. i wrote a deposit for 5k. i calculated it will hold its value based on the limited production of them this year and, hopefully, moving forward. there is going to be a long line of people willing to pay 10k over for them. there's one on ebay bid up to 93k the last time i checked. congratulations to me, eh? |

i will say this, other than a tune and some other tweeks, i have no intention of doing to the gt-r what i did to cutn edg. whereas cutn edg demonstrated about how far you can take an awd economy car (before it overwhelmes its street mission), the gt-r has alot more assets to begin with. horhay: once the motor is dropped in, cutn edg is all but completed as a project. i have every intention of getting it onto a track, probably starting with englishtown for a 1/4 mile shakedown with me making my first trip down any drag strip - period - in what should be a 10 sec car. i'll also try to get into some hpde's with what is left of the season when the car comes back. | |
