so i guess you're going to have to speed up your plans by a little?

settadown now settadown!

what i'm saying is, my inspection plan is completely derailed. unless i can come up with an alternative... and fast, unfortunately cutn edg will be, by necessity, a track dedicated car. jake can attest to how difficult it is to disguise what it has become. my paperwork needs to be in order.

Are we talking environmental (as in State) inspection, here?

$20K over msrp? Oh **** that. Buy a new M3 and pocket the $30K leftover. Or, buy a 335xi, get it tuned (400whp, easy), and pocket the $40K leftover. Either way, it's a complete no-brainer.

having to live with the wretched embarrassment and endlessly trying to explain how it all went wrong... while stuggling to hold my head up?

...good question.

i'm not paying over msrp so it could be a year. an m3 is also on the short list.

It ought to be, but go down and take a 335xi for a spin while you're there. $4K for a tune and exhaust and it's right there with the M3, at least power wise, and gets much better mileage. All wheel drive too. Don't get me wrong: it won't be an M3, but if tuned, it's the sleeper of the bunch.

So there's no possibility of passing emissions legally? No bribing possibility whether monetary or sexual (if your into that last one ). I don't know how your state tests emissions but I know in Canada you just go to one of many shops and the possibility of a bill of large denomination falling into the tester's pocket "accidentally" is quite high (not that I've ever done that *shifty conspicuous eyes*) . I mean you've come this far and jumped so many hurdles - or gone face first into them in some cases and emissions is whats gonna put the brakes on your project.

I can just picture it..."How much for the inspection?" ..."OH Geez...What ever am I gonna do with all this EXTRA money I've brought?"
