accusump is great stuff. It preoils for the cold starts, and is always standing by to take up ths slack if oil pressure should dip. Its so simple its stupid. Its just an accumulator. If the oil pickup is ever unported, it dumps until pressure equalizes.

Brilliant. i know airplane guys who use an accusump for preoil (particularly important for 2 reasons 1) an airplane engine cost $30K 2) an airplane may go weeks or months without being run)

they also use it as kind of a poor mans inverted system. Inverted oil systems are expensive, complex and heavy. An accusump gives a few seconds of inverted oil pressure with relatively little cost, weight, or ocmplexity.

Is there a limitation as to how far away the reserve tank can be mounted with the accusump?

i just got off the phone with dave at accusump. i learned that our motor can't use their "epc" (electric pressure control) valve because our idle presure is too low. the epc valve activates electronically at start-up. our cars need the manual valve, which will now become part of my start-up procedure along with the external fuel pump toggle switch.

http://www.accusump.com/acc_products/acc_valves.html

how cool is that.

also,

i decided on a seibon cf trunk lid instead of painting the stock lid in neanderthal blackout. our sponsor rallysportdirect is hooking it up. should be here in a few weeks.
