Forgot to post this from last weekend...

After installing my KB/TiC hardened bushings, I experienced increased NVH from the shift lever, as expected. I enjoy the tranny whine, but the shift knob also rattled a lot, and that got REALLY annoying. So this past weekend, I tried to fix the rattle...if the fix failed, I was going to buy a new Prodrive knob.

After two 5+ hour trips on the highway, I was able to determine that the cause of the rattle was the plastic shift pattern on top of the 05+ knobs. In fact, my initial fix was to wrap a rubber band around the top of the knob to stop the rattle. It worked, but clearly it was only a stopgap solution.

So I pulled the shift pattern off the knob, added some precisely cut foam double-sided tape triangles, and then pushed the shift pattern back on (it was a snug fit). I'm happy to say - the rattle is gone!

So for anyone with a noisy 05+ knob, here's your solution:

Some pics from early December... Ben (fullerton) and his wife, Ricky (covert747), and a friend and I went to Chicago Indoor Racing in the suburbs (indoor "adult" go-karting). Fun times!

On the way there, I saw a parking lot full of snow, and mostly untouched. So naturally I roll in to play, 'cause I don't get that opportunity in downtown.

Well, I got a few nice drifts in untouched snow, and decided to go to another part of the lot...which was unfortunately molested by a truck or something. I managed to get my scoob stuck! 8-12" of packed hard snow and all-season tires don't mix. I switched between full lock and Auto to see if the DCCD could outsmart me...it didn't, lock eventually got me out... But I had to rock the car in 1st and reverse for like 10 minutes

Anywhoo, I got out The packed hard snow froze inside my wheels and threw my wheel balance off for about 20 miles on the highway. Felt like I broke something

Also, pics with the other cars after dark (not great pics...it was like 15 degrees out, I couldn't feel my fingers)
