Nan, a general rule for working on cars, take the estimated time for an installation and multiply it by 3

What happened to "I'm not modding my car"

Wow, good job!! Looks like your almost there! One thing, I would personally flash to STG2 before you start the car. I did the same when I installed the DP and other goodies. This way the car starts up with STG2 since the DP is already there. Then check for any leaks, etc. Go for a drive and enjoy! Good luck, can't wait to see the pics!

stage 2 is flashing as we speak whore. You really don't need help to put the cobb dp on, it's really easy. Hell it took me several hours to take off the factory dp and about 20 minutes to get everything bolted up for the cobb dp.

I"ll have to update my journal after I get back from raping my car

Well you beat me to it Kurt, but my TBE is on as of now. I had to wash and wax my gold wheels before hand, so that took away my time advantage.

Back to work

There was a lower heat shield that kept getting in my way when I would go to lift the bellmouth onto the turbo. It was kind of a PITA. If the car was in the air a little higher it would have been fine. But, I had a little trouble menuevering into place by myself.

Woohoo Nandan

umm...i'm pretty sure I dispensed with that lower heat shield . I hope it's not really needed. Damn nan, I was expecting about 30 pictures by this time. I'm too lazy to go take pics of my car.

I had a fun drive around earlier, nothing like doing 130 on a little country road in the middle of the day

Nandan is gonna have to keep an eye on his defis when I come up to chicago...there's a good chance I'll try to steal them . Man I really want some nice gauges now, I'm happy with everything else.

I think if you remove that heat shield that stuff starts to rattle

Plus, I'm pretty sure you need it to attach the OE heatshield (which I did).

Um that would be 6 for me! Shoulda seen how long it took me to change the scoop splitter on a friends car.......broke 2 of the plastic push pins on that one and had one I could not get out!!!!!!!
Well worth it to do the work yourself, makes you "in-tune" with the car IMHO.

Keep at it......

Yes. Everything is done. Finished around midnight Slow and steady, with no real issues (except one small bump along the way with the Defis, but my buddy Josh helped me out big time! More on that later).

I have no idea which shield you're talking about

I only got a short test drive to make sure everything was in order...hit around 100 in 4th I think. Also did a low RPM WOT in 5th gear to see if I could get boost creep. It spiked to around 19 and then settled around 18 psi, so I think I'm safe

Pictures are downloading from the camera as I type this...

Yeah it took me a lot of time, but everything came together smoothly. Nothing broken, luckily. I wasn't going to mod this quickly, but used parts fell in my lap

I'll have more posts with pictures/stories/etc. soon, as I get the images.

And one daytime shot after we finished putting the Cobb Turboback on and mounted the goldies:

BTW, that's my parents' garage. You can see why I'm doing as much work as I can in these two days
