IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2004 Trader Rating: (11) | Well, it's been a busy weekend for the STi, and it's only Saturday evening! WARNING: My car is FILTHY...look at the pictures at your own risk. ![]() Last night I decided to do a little baking. I started after work at 5:30, thinking I should be able to remove the headlights, clear them, and reinstall by 8 pm (before it got dark). WRONG. Of course I should know by now that nothing ever goes according to my ideal schedule. It took me 3.5 hours to remove and clear the lights...so it was too dark to reinstall last night. She slept under her cover with no lights or grill ![]() Removing the lights took me way longer than expected (like 30 minutes for the first light) simply because 1) I couldn't get the damn clip to let go of the white tab on the headlight easily, and 2) I couldn't get the damn wire harnesses to un-clip easily either. Finally gave the lights a good pull and the white tab let go...I was worried I'd break it, so I was not pulling very hard at all initially. The 2nd light came out easily having done the first one. Ditto for baking the lights. The first light I did took me f'in forever... I baked for 15 minutes, tried prying it apart, got it a little bit and then put it in the oven again for 5 minutes, tried again, got a little more...finally put a little more muscle into it and finally got the f'er apart. Took the amber pieces out, pushed the housing back together again, and stuck it in the oven for 15 minutes again (I also took the turn signal light out, to let the housing vent; in the event any moisture was in there, I figured 15 minutes at 200 degrees would get it to evaporate out of that hole). Pushed it completely together again, screwed it back up, and it was done. Repeat for the other side...and the 2nd light went a lot faster than the first one, again. All in all, I'd say clearing the headlights was a much bigger pain in the ass than I had expected. I woke up early today and had to button up the car before driving out to Indiana. More on that later ![]() Testing the lights to make sure I didn't bork anything: All buttoned up... the turn signals are amber bulbs (JDM yo ) that I got through Caesar (Lightwerkz) almost a year ago Thanks again man!BRAKEDUSTRLY? So after finishing up the car, I grabbed some lunch, and then headed out to Indiana to meet another member (Snorky) to purchase his V-limited lip. I wish I had a folding rear seat! While I was taking pictures today, I also realized I don't have any shots of the interior during the daytime (since I invariably would finish work on the car after dark ). So I snapped some: |

It's filthy, I want to wash/clay/polish/wax so bad but midwest weather has all of us bent over right now.I'm still on my winter setup! We had snow last week ![]() I'm a little surprised by how flimsy the V-lip feels... Hopefully that flex will save it from cracking though | |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2005 Trader Rating: (5) | The lights look great man. You're lucky... you didn't have to paint Be careful with that goddam V-Lim lip. Those silly things are flimsy... 3-pieces flimsy ![]() Your interior looks really clean too - it's so weird seeing the blue in there now. And I used to own an '04. Weird |

IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2005 Trader Rating: (9) | ![]() Nice work on the headlights and glad you got the V-Limited. I <3 mine and I'm sure you'll love it. Buy a set of Takata mini ramps, you'll probably need them if you want to still be able to reach the front crossmember jackpoint after the lip is on. This ad is not endorsed by this member.
