I can't My family time is really limited. A 6-hour roundtrip drive for a "car thing" just isn't in the cards, ya know?

^^^Haha, I haven't seen the results yet, Joe

Chicago traffic definitely made it harder...I'd be content with 25 highway I think.

I plan on doing both mods, but one will have to wait till next year. Thanks

Rich
I'll post the reply to this in my member journal as well if you don't object; I think other people have probably been in this situation before, too.

I had the OEM boost gauge up until I went stage two. The OEM boost was frankly good enough for my purposes, and I had no intention of getting rid of it (especially since I changed mine to red)...but after I got the Cobb AP and went stage one, I noticed that the OEM gauge was reading nearly 1-1.5 psi too LOW! So I kept thinking I wasn't hitting target boost level, where in fact, I was easily hitting target levels (I verified this by reading live boost on the AP itself).

I had already ordered a Defi BF Oil pressure gauge, so after seeing that the OEM gauge was a bit inaccurate, I got the bug to buy a BF Boost gauge as well. If I did it all over again I'd buy all the gauges as one package instead of piecemeal like I have done so far - it would have saved me some money.

Stage 1 *supposedly* can creep sometimes (never happened for me, this is purely hearsay), so it's important to be able to monitor your boost. However, I don't think it's AS important until you go stage two - stage two is when you need to watch for boost spiking/creeping, and that's when the Defi warning buzzers come in quite handy. I ran stage one with OEM boost the whole time.

Keep in mind that the Defi gauge package will run you close to $1000 with a pod, paint (ATI pods are color matched already, Defi pods require paint), 3 gauges, and any install costs. The AP is $600-$650, so it's "cheaper."

I guess the final question to ask is, do you want interior bling or performance right now? I'm glad I went Defi along with stage two; accurate gauges give me a better sense of confidence in the car.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Nandan

Yeah, it's a lie (about being content) but I haven't had the urge to buy parts lately (maybe because I spent a ton at the beginning of the year on stage two, gauges, wheels, etc.).

Here's what I want to do to the car over the next few years (no particular order):

- Springs & group-n tops
- Sways
- 18" Summer wheels & tires (later than sooner)
- A HU that supports IPod - mayyyybe a Navi system if I'm feeling rich
- Clear my headlights
- V-limited lip
- Either EGT or Wideband AFR gauge to complete the gauges
- TopSpeed tune at some point?
- Shifter bushings as the car gets older and stuff gets sloppy
- Reded out HVAC

That's all I got for now. Different brake pads and stuff once these wear out...but I'm not planning out my wear items just yet
