Man I'd love to track her but I'm concerned about insurance...and I won't have my summer hoops on until beginning of May (stored at my parent's place in Michigan)

If I'm free maybe I'll drive up to Gingerman to meet up with a few of you, since it's not too far from Chicago...

I'm in Chicago for the next few weekends, you've got my phone number, definitely let me know if you're around! Picking an exhaust has been hard work!

I have a weird "warble" sound coming from my muffler (or in that vicinity). It's not drivetrain, because I can replicate it when stopped and in neutral. If I blip the throttle after the car is warm, it makes the weird sound as the engine drops past 1500 RPM (and I can clearly hear it come from the driver side rear of the car). Very odd noise, sounds like it might be some vibrating metal or something (reminds me of the sound a "musical saw" makes - you know, a wood saw oscillating ). Took a look back there (and took two pictures). Hangers look fine, muffler itself has some rust around the hanger area but is in-tact.

What I wasn't sure about is this metal shield looking piece above the exhaust (directly behind the bumper skin). You can see it in this picture, it's the silver piece sticking out underneath. Is that normal?

**EDIT: I saw pictures of other people's cars and they all have that shield hanging there too. Hmm I guess I don't know what's making that sound then. From the looks of the exhaust though, it could be rusting in places, who knows.
(Car is filthy!)

No idea, I haven't had my catback portion off yet and this was just a 20 second thing I checked at lunch. I'm guessing there's a shield above the stock exhaust, and it might be coming off ?

I saw other people's pictures and it looks normal. Weird I guess I never noticed it before.

I can make the sound parked or moving, clutch in or out, in gear or in neutral. I'm 99% sure it's an exhaust sound. Oh well...it'll be gone soon enough

maybe it's the car scaring you into getting a new DP since the exhaust can flow more than what it is flowing now?

That's my main motivation for going back to my apt for lunch some days.

This must be a sign you need a TBE with a Borla XR-1
