Default kmurphy's 06 sti HELP ME CHOOSE A NEW TURBO SETUP

I figured I might as well jump on the bandwagon and start a journal. I didn't think I would make one since I kinda keep to myself and don't get too involved into the subaru tuner world. But I thought it would be a good way to showcase a lot of the stuff i will be fabricating for my car and will hopefully be producing since im in the process of starting a business.
Background:
I bought my 06 sti in november of last year after I spent all summer paying off debt. This has been my first "fast" car, and love it. I got into modifying cars when I got my first car which was a '92 Jeep wrangler that I managed to morph into a jeep/buggy. I put in a 4-link suspension with coilovers and sitting on Dana 60's and 40" tires. I decided to learn more about my passion and started taking various classes down the hill in sacramento and one of the community colleges. After I took a years worth of classes I wanted to learn more about the fabrication aspect of modifying cars...so I decided to go to wyotech which i regret doing. I learned a lot and have worked in various dealerships until laid off in dec of '06. That was my last straw with working for dealerships and decided i wouldnt do it ever again. After moving back to tahoe and enjoying a years worth of partying and paying off debt. I moved back down to roseville and started working a lot and saving money to start buying more tools so that i could get into what i really loved doing....building sh*t and tearing sh*t up.
So thats basically where im at now. Fabricating for friends and a few of their friends and so on,and now currently turning my hobby into a business.

nope not yet. i had them on a flash card and lost it. i guess i need to take some new ones. i only have one car.....im going to sell the 2nd ewg setup.

my car isnt that exciting though your basic run of the mill obp with gold bbs. i want to get the power and suspension sorted out first, before i touch the exterior but i doubt i'll do exterior modifications to keep it low key.

i found some extra 1 7/8" tubing so i made the part that connects the uppipe to the wastegate. here are some pics. just need to clean up the notches, weld it to the uppipe and notch the hole in the uppipe. pics-

edited the post to show the process form beginning to end of making the uppipe.

Default Re: kmurphy's 06 sti HELP ME CHOOSE NEW TURBO

so im trying to decide on which turbo i should put on my car next. gt3076r with the tial v-band housing, twinscroll gt3076r .78 a/r, or a twin scroll t4 gt35r 1.06 a/r. im leaning towards either of the gt30s as i dont want to get a new clutch which im sure mine will slip with the gt35r power. anyone have some good input. i love a good responsive setup so i may stay with a topmount intercooler. i think the twinscroll gt30r with a tmic would be very responsive and make some decent power.

either one of the turbo's i'll be making my own headers, uppipe and downpipe.

Nice welds buddy. Twinscroll 3076 sounds good if you want to keep stock clutch and stay top mount. Good luck
