Default June 28-MIR BOTI- 10.0X 1/4mile 1.3X 60ft.!!!

Terry Young came to us in July of last year looking to upgrade his stock 05 WRX. Of course, we jumped at the chance to play with a stock car.. It's not very often that customers come in with stock cars anymore... When he came in, he said that he wanted to have some fun racing with his son at the local 1/8th mile track and had to run at least 8.3's or faster...

On our first meeting with Terry and his son Sean, we started with the usual 'conservative' power upgrades... ( now you have to understand that conservative to me is now 350-400whp... i mean seriously, our personal car made 887whp)

So, his first upgrades were:

DC Sports header
DC Sports Up-pipe
TurboXS FMIC
TurboXS Turbo back exhaust
AEM CAI
Element GT52 Turbo
Exedy Stage 2 clutch
ACT Prolite Flywheel
AEM EMS w/ Wideband Gauge and Serial Gauge
Walboro In-tank FP

This made 367 whp...He picked up the car on a Friday...went racing that night and came home with the top tuner trophy running a best of 8.1. Not bad, eh? Apparently, not good enough for Terry. He has the bug...

Well, with that kind of power, the factory gear box started acting up. SO... onto the next shopping spree...

PPG Straight cut gear set and PPG Billet output gears
B&M short shifter
and a retune

He went to the track, and whipped some more ass at his local 1/8mile track in Christiansburg VA running 8.0's.... That made him happy for the rest of the race season.

Onto February of this year...quoting Terry "I wanna go 7.5's Howard"

ARFab SF2:
Brand new USDM block and crank
Arias custom forged 9.8:1 CR pistons
Eagle Rods
Competition bearings
Traded in the GT52 turbo for an AR Fab/Precision Turbo custom turbo setup
44mm Tial Wastegate
50mm Tial BOV
880cc top feed injectors
AR Fab fuel rails
Aeromotive FPR
AR Fab Breather system
3" Down pipe
DSS rear axles

Howard did his magic once again and tuned Terry's car to 20psi making close to 500whp and sent Terry back to the track. The very first weekend with the new setup the car went 7.7's on 14psi. It was reported that Terry was spinning the tires on the launch and was having the 5MT PPG Dog gearbox 2nd-3rd shift blues.

Howard was asked by Terry to head to Christiansburg and come up with a solution. He brought a brandnew SPT shifter assembly, a set of slicks, a rear solid trans mount and his laptop. That night Howard was able to run the car down the track for Terry on the slicks running twice..7.67 and 7.62 and noticed that on his second run the high boost stage was not engaging in 3rd gear. So with some more tweaking Howard brought the boost up on the launch to 17psi and Terry stepped in the car to run a 7.2 @98mph with a 1.62 60ft. Not bad for a stock suspension 3080# car!! Terry, now very excited, has his mind set on 6.9's!!

The very next weekend Terry took the car out and found that the clutch had taken its last trip down the track on the 7.2 run. So back to the shop it came.

Terry shows up with the car Thursday May23rd, yesterday, for an AR Fab/ClutchMasters custom clutch/flywheel, a welded viscous diff, plug change, Fluid change, Tien suspension, corner balancing and a re-tune.

The car made 511whp 450fttq at 21psi...

Terry will be reporting back tonite with the results! Our testing of the launch yesterday on the test pad was insane!

When we are done we should see 1.25-1.30's and 110mph. That's the goal along with 6.20's.

The turbo kit is custom fit kit. We finalized design last year after years of R&D... We custom fit each kit to the car just to make sure that the finished product looks nothing short of perfection!
