My Scooby 08 STi

I've been a big fan of the STi since the 2004 model came out and after countless hours daydreaming of someday buying one, I finally drove a new 2008 STi home on January when it first came out. Why the 2008 STi? Well, for me, it's because it has great performance, all-wheel-drive, and the practicallity of having 4 doors, able to seat five people and cargo space. It's a great "all-around" car! I also think it it has a very menacing look with the new hood scoop and fender flairs. I know there are those who don't agree about the look, but have everyone of those people seen one in person other than in the magazines and internet? I was also quite skeptical and dissapointed at first about the body change, but, that was before I actually went to check out the car in person. The first Subaru dealer didn't have one on hand and was not too enthusiastic about the new WRX's they had. Anyway, the next week, on the way to visit my sister in Laguna, I knew of a Subaru dealer off the I-5 in Irvine and decided to exit and check-out if they had any STis, and it turned out they had about 10 of them. It was "love at first sight" and was sold on it once i got into the driver's seat and heard the engine come to life. I went back the next day and picked up my 2008 STi in a dark gray metallic color!

CURRENT MODIFICATIONS
1. Accessport
2. Harman Motive downpipe and OTS tune
3. Cobb short shifter and replacement bushings
4. Harman Motive front and rear swaybars
5. Whiteline front swaybar endlinks

Mods Comming Soon
1. Install the Harman CAI sitting in my closet and get protuned
2. Tomei headers (haven't decided whether to go equal or unequal)

Congrats on the '08! Your story about purchasing one is identical to mine... I didn't agree with the restyling of it and I disliked it in pictures, but one day after driving by a dealer and seeing it in person, I fell in love. Couple days later, I got it!

dgm! the color that i saw on subaru's website that had me fall in love at first sight with the new design! unfortunately the dealer i went to didn't have that color in base trim so i got the aw instead.

i've got my cobb short shift on order, how do you like yours so far? any problems with it?
