If a shop charges you more then 30minutes labor, it really is highway robbery. I did it in about 45min of not working too hard without any wrenches at all ( which would've been nice for 2 of the bolts)





While flashing to the protune map I purchased from Clark Turner yesterday, put this on :


Car sounds much better, and with the tune+intake, it actually pulls to at least 6000 rpm! No more super power feeling drop off, the "kick" of power is gone, but it seems much, much smoother then cobb OTS stage 2 map.

It looks great but wait, you bought a map prior to having the parts installed? Isn't the whole point of a tune supposed to be that it caters to your particular vehicle? Why not spring a little more and have someone really tune it instead of buying a somewhat generic map?

I purchased a map optimized for 93 oct, catless dp, and maf settings reset for a cold air intake. Clark Turner / AZ scoobie off Nasioc has been tuning subies for a while, i think at least since 03 from what I could dig up through all his posts and all his custom tunes and mail-ins have been pretty damn happy. Also it's much cheaper baseline ($150 for protune map) then the local options ($500). I am going to have full turbo-back by next month, so it's definetely more then enough to get me by for now. Spend $150 now and make sure the car doesn't blow before i go get a full, full custom tune next month pretty much =)
As usual, i'll be going on the dyno soon enough to figure out what's going on exactly.
