Awesome rally action...JK. Glad thats all the damage that happened, looks like an excuse to show us what some sick jdm style would look like on an AW car. Just my .02

As long as it's safe to drive, I'd put it back together and clean it up as much as possible, get a new fender liner if necessary, and then sleep on it for a couple weeks. And get more estimates .

I am actually shocked...SHOCKED that the damage is so minimal. I say go the AM route and get a nice front end that will set you out. I would probably wait and drive around with a scratched front end until something came out I really wanted, but its up to you.

Is the estimate you listed strictly for the new bumper only (part, paint, labor), or does that include an alignment or any other parts? If the estimate was only for the bumper/paint/install, how much of the estimate was for labor?

If the bumper mounting points weren't damaged I can't imagine it would take more than a total of 1 hour to remove and install the front bumper. Granted, I've never removed an 08 front bumper, but I have done it on my 06. It literally on takes a total of 20-30 minutes to remove and then re-install. I can't imagine the 08 is any harder.

Damn! Sorry to hear about that. I agree you should just wash it up and drive with it. Think about it a little longer and then you will make the correct decision.

I've removed my front bumper like 5-7 times in the 5 months that I've had the car for various reasons... It comes off in no more than 10 minutes.

If I had someone to help me support the bumper while I unplug the fogs I could probably do it in 5 minutes. The front bumper literally pops off.

i wouldn't let the dealership do it for you, then you will save money.
take the pieces off yourself, figure out what you need...get on SubaruGenuineParts.com || Where Genuine is Better! and buy the parts.
send it for paint somewhere you know and put it all back yourself.
you would probably be spending less than a grand.

Agreed.

Get a new bumper if needed, get it painted and put it on yourself.

The most expensive items will be the bumper and the painting.

Sorry to hear about the damage, but just clean it up, save your $$$ and buy another bumper.

Umm, I'm fairly certain if you submit this claim and they find out you were racing you'll get denied, possibly canceled. And claims people do check the internet...

Anyway, if it were me, I would do just the minimum to get it safe again... i.e. if it's just cosmetic and a few clips, just replace the clips. You may be able to tackle this yourself. I wouldn't bother painting it since the front always gets the hell chipped out of it anyway. And next time you take it to the track you won't mind as much!

I'd be interested to see how bad it looks after you clean all the mud off and snap the fog light covers back in.

I would just clean her up, get an alignment, and wait for some good bodykits to be released for the 08. For the price you would pay for the dealership to do it, you could get a nice kit for the car (if you want to go with a custom look).
Other wise I would do what VSGTs14 said and go with subaruparts.com and deal with a good local bodyshop for the paint.

I would do none of the above. That bumper (from the pics) looks easily repairable. Which means you wont need to buy any additional parts from the dealer or subarugenuineparts.com

A decent body shop will be able to get it back to new for less than $500. The alignment will cost $60-up. Looks like $560 to me (give or take $100).

Wow...good point, I can't believe I completely overlooked this. I doubt they would cancel, but they may raise rates because of "aggressive driving" and/or just deny coverage for damage that occurred on the track.

True that. All it could need is a few clips and a paintjob. Hey midnit, is the bumper cracked at all? Def. built with good materials, that thing held up nicely.

You know me, so I would vote for:

I can buy some aftermarket JDM bumper for X amount of dollars, and then another $50 for a new plastic fender liner.

Prob find a front an aftermarket front bumper cheaper, and paint and put it on yourself! Give you another reason to do a FMIC, turbo upgrade ahahha. I am sooooo bad!

The front bumper literally pops off.
Sounds good! And yeah, the front bumper literally popped off when I hit that ditch! Thankfully everything popped back into place. Subaru really had their heads on straight when they designed this beast.

From what I understand with my insurance company, they will not cover me if I'm racing at a track. They should still cover me if I am taking a driving improvement course which just so happens to be at a track. Because it is not classified as racing, it is classified as driver improvement. This is how a few others from the class were able to get covered for the day.

At this point though, I'd rather not go through insurance at all; it would just raise my rates for no reason.

This is what I'm going to do, the alignment is scheduled for first thing in the morning, then the dealership will put back together and detail the car as best they can and then I'm just taking my baby home.

I'm 99% sure that it's not cracked, but I will take some pictures tomorrow when I see her again.

You're a bad influence Chris! I might still do this, but I'm not a big fan of the Chargespeed or Ings+ kit right now. Zerospeed is so-so but looks too EVO-ish.

I really want the Voltex hood from the Runduce car, but I didn't **** up my hood at all, only my bumper, haha.
