Wider front track vs rear can help eliminate understeer when used in conjunction with proper camber/caster and tire settings. Would make sense seeing as this car was pretty fast at Tsukuba.

pretty interesting.
its funny how so many people thought that the new sti was going to hold soooo much more rubber than the previous generation........

well people have thrown on 275/285's under with no problem, just not as crazy sizing like we're trying to do.

if they ran a 20mm higher offset they could get a lot more tire under there

the Japanese tuners have always found a good middle ground for tire width.

you rarely see them running insane width tires.

i'm sure they've weighed the options of wider track vs. weight and grip and chose to go with the wider track.

there are always trade offs when it comes to wheels and tires, choosing the proper setup for your needs is key and your needs will determine what trade offs you're willing to do.

I got the tires mounted and balanced today, got home rather late and I didn't have time to fit the wheels on. I will do that tomorrow and possibly get some pics.
