Yeah, with proper tuning and supporting mods, you can squeeze the living piss outta the stock turbo
I'm curious as to how long its going to last though....
(not doubting or trashing talking the tune, but to achieve those numbers on a stock turbo, the poor little thing probably has a reduced life equal to someone who smokes 3 cartons of Marl Reds a day.... lol)

Yeah, i would collect the downpipe + catback and accessport and do it all at once.... then buy maybe some larger injectors, a walbro fuel pump, maybe an intake... turbo inlet tube... leave it all off until you get the car tuned by a professional.... have all the stuff installed before the tune and the tuner can adjust everything to run perfectly w/ the mods you purchased

That, w/ stainless steel brake lines, more performance oriented fluid and such, rotors pads... the works... i have heard that it stiffens up where the master cylinder is mounted on the firewall... apparently under hard braking the master cylinder has some play in it and if done over and over will eventually wear out the points it is connected to... the brace is supposed to keep it mounted solid and apply the movement in the master cylinder to the actual stopping of the vehicle.....

just installed one myself, along with all the lines, pads & fluid. Haven't done any hard braking quite yet but things feel much much stiffer.

oh I did not know that. Awesome man, thanks! Atleast now I am not as pressured to obtain some sort of engine management until I get some engine pieces. Thanks a lot. Did you purchase any guages for your car yet?

So i talked to my tuner finally had to give the guy a call but i got the info i was after for the most part.... i discussed briefly my plans for the CP30r and how i would like to resell as little as possible between going stage 2 and doing the turbo upgrade.... he also HIGHLY recommended tuning on E-85 before i even brought it up... he has been seeing much higher TQ numbers, as well as an added 20whp when tuned on E-85 as opposed to 91 pump... Good news for me There is 1 small catch w/ E85 and that is he wont tune it on stock injectors.... Modaddict, if you would post? or shoot me a PM for the price on the CP 720cc injectors that the 30r kit recommends? might as well get those outta the way if i have the funds, if not i'll live on a 91 pump tune....

After reviewing what i wanted and what i didnt have to resell because the turbo upgrade would require something else... this is what we have decided:
Invidia Downpipe (he recommended catted. I have catless but im not debating my if i wanna buy a new DP )
Invidia G200 Cat Back Exhaust
Walbro 255 Fuel pump
One step colder spark plugs
Cobb Accessport....
(possibly the Crawford Performance "magic" 720cc Injectors)

Now, w/ the turbo upgrade he HIGHLY suggested a standalone and after hearing his reasoning + his experiences, i'll probably wait a little longer, save a little more, sell the accessport when im switching to the 30r and then purchase a standalone.... unfortunately he seemed rushed because he was driving to a tune, but i got the basics outta him and after i figure out my $$ as well as when my Fed tax return will be here then i can get a better idea of when i'll be getting tuned and such.....

basically, im happy and cant wait... stock STi puts down about 235whp on the dyno he tunes on, and i think i remember him mentioning getting ~275+whp after tuning for stg 2....
Oh yeah, he also admitted he probably isnt the tuner to go for to get the highest possible WHP numbers... he prides himself on his smooth power delivery tunes and their high reliability... which is a RELIEF for me....
Reliability > Power IMO

Cool sounds like you have a good plan.. I am sure he was lowballing it you should see more then 275whp on stg2, but its cool that his main concern is reliablity and he was blowing smoke at you claiming he can get you this and that you know.. Good luck

Im not sure what you mean by the part highlighted in red.... im sure it will see over 275, or at least i hope.... right now i gotta find out the $$ for CP injectors and decide whether or not its worth it to be able to run E85

I am one of those people who if asked something and I don't know, i HAVE to research and learn it so i will know the answer next time. Im kind of OCD, but that helps me learn ALL kinds of skills. Part of my master plan to one day know everything.

couldn't have said this better. +1 for researching mods and becoming a good modder!!
SS lines are one of my favorite mods, it really does make a noticable difference.
as far as the 720cc injectors... go with DW 740cc.

they should be alright for turbos up to a 30r(ish) and i would recommend ordering them from Josh at www.importimageonline.com i usually get on AOL/AIM and IM him on 'ImportImageRace' make sure you mention my name and ask him the best price he can do for you... he ships fast, free, and he hooks it up!
