The Enkeis? i think those are what you had last time i saw... i'll check in a sec

EDIT: I saw your post in "check out my wheels" sticky and they are the Enkeis i thought they were. They look cool, and i know Enkei isn't one of the more expensive brands, but im not a fan of how short the spokes are and how large the lip looks. I have been considering buying some cheap-ish wheels to change the look.... but i'll most likely wait until i work on the suspension and do the wheels i really want then....

How you likin this weather..... 70somethin yesterday..... snow is PILING up now.... at least where i am

+1 on importimageonline. i always hit him on AOL/AIM his screen name is Importimagerace and he hooks it up pretty good.

those pics are good!! Colorado is a beautiful state, i wouldnt mind living there. I actually set Colorado as one of the 10 places i would like to be transferred to if i get the air traffic controller job!

Yeah this is a really cool place... mostly depending on what part of the state you live IMO.... the weather is weird all over the state though... like i said above, was like 76 yesterday, was 39 and dropping when i left work today (3:30) and starting to snow.... i'd guess maybe .5" accumulation of snow so far.... supposed to be cleared up tomorrow and sunny for a few days after that..... really really far out weather... and go figure i put the OEM tires back on like a month or 2 ago hoping it would stay somewhat nice and we've had a few snow storms since....

Also, on another topic..... end result for my car i would PROBABLY like a 35R on a somewhat built motor, just throwin that out there.... from what i read, the engine's breaking point is right around 400whp depending on the tune and driving style.... with this in mind, i picked the 30R but have since been thinking more that i KNOW i'll MOST LIKELY be wanting to go larger..... I'm pretty sure Modaddict has been running his 35R on OEM motor and drivetrain, althought i think he upgraded the clutch since then... The price is the same for the 30R and 35R last time i saw, so im just kinda thinking aloud.....

I dont really know what i would like for final HP numbers, but since my original plan for near 400whp would warrant some upgraded internals, would it also warrant a 35R... if so what would i need to upgrade internally for the turbo?
^^ I'll do some research on this topic later, but i gotta finish my homework before i go to class tonight

If you do come out we'll have to hold a warm welcome for ya.... I'm pretty sure Boulder is one of the largest, if not THE Subaru mecca..... there are SO many here, and awdpirates.com is FULL of subys

Yep, those Enkei's. Yeah, not too expensive is why I bought those, I can't justify spending loads of money on rims plus they're strong as $hit. I'll, agree with you on the lip, it is quite large but I think it fits the car well, especially once I drop it a little bit.
Man o man is this little snow storm pissing me off. My winter set of wheels is already in the attic, but I don't worry cuz normally this April snow never sticks to the streets...just as it didn't do tonight

IIRC.. and someone will chim ein if i am wrong... the pistons are the weak point in the engine. the rods are supposed to be good for like 450-500ish.
this is all from what i remember reading. so i am sure others (with real mods) will chime in!!

but i am whoring out the fact that i got back my test scores for my FAA air traffic control test!! i posted the result in my journal! stop by and pollute if you'd like!!

for reliabilty? 400whp go with the 35r. Just realize, you WILL have to replace the motor at some point. (really, just the pistons, rings, bearings, gaskets and a rehone).

yes, im on the stock block, stock trans and drivetrain, but I did upgrade my clutch. FWIW, i ran the stock clutch on the street and it was fine with the 30r, but slipped with the 35r in second on a power shift. I upgraded, because i went to the dyno. at pdx, the stock clutch slipped with the 30r on the dyno.

I went to cali for a dyno tune (yes, 1100 miles) and i knew the stock clutch wouldn't take the 35r...so i did the twin disc. since I learnt it's quirks and how to drive it, I would never turn back.

my wife drove this thing in L.A traffic for 3 weeks with zero problems she really likes the clutch.

Yeah it was quite annoying.... but i know it doesnt stick to the roads either, i was in boulder all night last night... left to go home at like midnight and the roads were just wet, no ice now that its April.... kinda stupid since it just lands between sunny days (like today ) but whatever, thats colorado...

Sounds good.... i know i wanna upgrade the internals at some point... so with that in mind im unsure of 30 or 35R.... we'll see... i gotta do some more searching and stuff

here's the 2nd best advice i can give you.

get ahold of your local chapter.....go for rides in 30r/35r cars. see if they will let you drive them.

then make your choice. don't make it blindly!

my 30r was a good bit more responsive than the 35r in that "fringe area driveability". the 30r wanted to boost instantly....the 35r i have to make boost in the 2k-3500 range. in the 2k-3500 range on the 30r...it was just go, go, go.

my boost threshold hasn't changed much....a matter of 200rpms or less (can't really even tell, honestly)

but hang the **** on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll see what i can find but not too sure what kinda response i'll get on awdpirates.... Alex (java) do you know anyone besides Harvey running a larger turbo? and willing to let someone else drive it lol.... i'll try posting something later on tonight on pirates... thanks for the advice Mod... i was just considering lag isn't a huge deal for me (probably) and so if i had planned to upgrade the internals later, why not go big right off the bat

My name is Alex fyi lol, but I know of a few people, I don't know if they would let you drive it though. I remember cruising to the red rocks meet on two separate occasions where there were 30R sti's, and I know Scuba_steve has a 35R...but he's also the fastest sti in CO. I'd try getting rides in those cars to see what you like best.

i hate you mod i keed i keed

Actually no, im just in a sour mood, drove back home after giving up on the TiC bushings..... there were a couple bolts seized under my car, so halfway through the install i hit the snag, decided that 4th time wasn't the charm (i think this is my 4th install "attempt") and god doesn't want these bushings on my car..... theyre gonna hit the iwsti marketplace in about 5 minutes....

i guess 4th attempt because they've always been around for other things, but have never had the time to try... so i dedicated today to just doing the bushings, and i still fail..... got like 4 hours of sleep last night and woke up super early to go to the lift i use to make sure i had enough time, and boom!.... i was strucken down by the car god

I know, i just posted in your journal when then went to the front page and saw my journal, coincidence?.....

Anyway, i was freaking out about money gone missing if anyone here knows / remembers.... well my car payments due on the 4th of each month and i pay online...... well even though i pay online, on time, during "normal business hours" for some reason my account didn't have the payment withdrawn until i think the 9th, the day after i had checked my account and was happy with how much i had in there..... so then bought the accessport and rented a tux, boom, im missing a crap load of cash.... couldnt get a very recent statement printed from my bank, so set up my online banking and now i see.... GHEY, it pisses me off that i go through the trouble to get my end taken care of on time, but the dip ****s at chase take 5 days to take action on their end....

On an up note, i found a hundred dolla bill sitting on my desk under a TON of old stuff lol..... (i dont carry cash for a reason, i cant keep track of it, Debit card FTMFW! ) To go along w/ that bill, there were a couple random gift cards in there, like a visa and american express and or some others, so found some $$ i had forgotten about a while ago in the shuffle of life.....

on one more down note i got a call from my bank saying my savings account was overdrawn... WTF NOW! oh well, now that i got my online banking up i just transfered over 15 bucks, in a few i'll see if i can figure out what the hell is up with my savings account now (im not broke, i just keep / deposit all my $$ into checking -- direct deposit from work too)

So, i thought this would be cool, can get me some Defis finally.... BUT, guess what came in the mail today.... car statement defi money gone again
