^^Really? Everything I have read about them has said they don't do much. Except for the ones that tie things together in a triangular pattern like the Cusco V-Brace for the rear and what not, shouldn't they be a "last mod?"
If they work well, I need to scoop some up.

From what I understood from the previous owner, it helps with the quick turning and cornering and provides a more rigid structure than what the car frame alone has to offer.

They only really benifit a car with other suspension mods. A stock car won't really benifit from a strut bar unless you're REALLY pusshing the limits. For example my car has an aftermarket subframe and sway bars. I belive it kind of connects and stiffin's the entire front end. Because before the subframe underneath would send the strut towers tweaking way more than usuall. With the brace, now I feel the suspension doing all the work instead of the chassis being flexed and absorbing the bumps. The brace is kepping the flexing to a minumum. IMO

it is true that the towers get some structural support by being close to the firewall. it is not true that the brace is worthless. there's no such thing as a worthless brace.

those are noltec camber plates iirc...looks like the rest is stock. seems to have never had a down pipe on there either. the strut bar is the ebay one. just keep it. you'd only get 10 bux for it anyway.my windshiled stopped crackin every other month when i got one, so it must do something. plus it looks cool is there one in the trunk? what color are the sway bars? looks like he had some suspension mods and that's about it on top of a tune. you got the ap? does it have a catback on it? the battery is aftermarket, never heard of them. looks legit, just need to clean that engine bay!! hit it up with a pressure washer, you'll be fine. look at all that salt /water on there already

Well... if your running a stage II than make sure you figure out or take pics of your exhaust system from the turbo down. Cuz he should have had a DP unless he removed it and never reflashed the car back to the stock maps. If your not car savy I would try to get someone else to mess with the Cobb or make sure you do ALOT of reading about it and be certain that you know how to do it.

Good luck...

btw. If there is no other serious mods than this guy was probably trying to stay in some lower stock class in the SCCA, to be competitive. So he limited his mods as that usually puts you in a higher run class. if so that you should be ok as long as you get some recommended services like change the differential fluids and tranny fluids. also just makes sure he doesnt have any worn bushings or ball joints. get it looked at if your not familiar with these cars.

Yeah, I never said that they were worthless, just not the best in terms of bang-for-the-buck. That's all.

I have read the instructions and as far as I can tell he didn't revert it back or anything. I don't think he took anything out of it or anything like that because when I bought the car it was flashed how it is today with stage II. I will get it looked at soon when I get a chance. Also I will take some pics after work in about 20 mins!

Looks like a cobb from the pics. You missed the most important one, the tip ..Lol. And looks like you got a stock sway in the rear with some aftermarket endlinks. That exhaust has got some pretty mean rust on it, but looks like it's fine.

I like the "guess the mods" game. Haha

On another note, this is an extremely fast growing journal.
