I got a set of RE070s with 3500 miles off ebay. Way more grip than the all-seasons that were on the car when I bought it. Car still understeers though and I decided that whiteline sways and alk will be my next mod. I put the Whitline Lockout Bolts in after a drive then went down the same road. These things really make a great difference- I get feedback from the rear of the car now. Its feels great in the tight stuff and the higher speed sweepers. Great mod, the car is a lot closer to doing exactly what I want now. I can't wait to see how it feels after I get the sways, alk, camber bolts, and alignment done!

I installed the Whiteline front and rear 24mm sways along with a Whiteline Anti-Lift Kit this weekend. I decided for the 27 over the 24 front because I drive on some rough(ish) roads and didn't want to go too stiff and lose grip. I did the install in stages so I could feel each change. (I have not gotten an alignment yet)

24mm rear sway (on middle setting: 24mm)- made the car more fun to toss around as the rear would come out, but I could tell the car wasn't any faster through turns that way. The front sloppy in comparison to the rear now.

24mm front sway (soft setting: 24mm)- flattened out the ride and gave the front end more grip. The car definitely had an "on rails" feel. Very noticeable difference, the car felt faster through the turns and I wasn't working as hard.

ALK- Removed all of the abrupt understeer that is typically associated with getting on the gas on corner exit. The car maintains the line and no longer goes clawing toward the outside of the turn. More front grip, the last piece of the puzzle for me. On-center steering feel also improved.

It was money well spent. The car feels great and does what I want now. I can't wait to put my H&R camber bolts in and get aligned!

Note: The ALK install is a pain in the ass without a lift, air tools, garage, or help. Its hard to torque those damn bolts on a lowered car at "ride height" as recommended.

Ive hemmed and hawed at the antilift kit.. doesnt sound like fun. But I am 100% sure you will love the sways. I have the same set up in my car.

I just picked up all the same pieces for my shifter as well. Install will be this weekend! Thanks for the pics. And that shot of your TMIC is hot!

Thanks! I may clear the headlights and remove the front Subaru emblem soon, but I still can't make a decision.

I guess I should update this with post-alignment info:

H&R camber bolts were installed in the front.

Alignment settings:

Front
Caster:
Left 4.8
Right 4.7
Camber:
Left -2.1
Right -2.1
Toe:
Left 0
Right 0

Rear
Camber:
Left -1.7
Right -1.8
Toe:
Left 0
Right 0

The car drives really well now and has even more front grip. I love the way it can be steered with the throttle now.

Nah, leave the Subaru emblem. Clear the headlights and debadge SUBARU and/or WRX impreza on the trunk. Also a JDM tail light mod would look good too!

Long post here as I've done quite a bit and haven't updated in awhile.

I'm still loving the sways and ALK- it's the best money I have spent on the car aside from the RE070s. Every aspect the handling has been greatly improved. Quicker turn in, virtually no midcorner understeer, no on-throttle understeer. It no longer feels like a front-heavy awd car through the twisties. I love steering with the throttle now- rolling off the throttle mid corner will tighten the line, while applying throttle will widen it, just as it should. Mashing the gas in a tight 2nd gear corner will send the back end out into a nice 4wd drift. This road sees a lot of action from me: from: S Market St - Google Maps one of the best in the state. Everyone I take for a ride can't believe how well the car corners. Except for the girlfriend, she just screams when I get on it.

I also installed a set of Hawk HP+ pads the other weekend because my stockers were shot in the rear. Bite seems better than stock. They dust slightly less I think. They also squeal at low speeds, like the last 10 ft before coming to a stop. I think it's cool, but maybe I'll get sick of it. The car is more of a weekend toy than a DD anyway so I like all the race-car sounds. Bedding them in was quite fun, by the 5th hard stop from 60mph, smoke was pouring out from the wheel wells. I bet I looked like an asshat doing 60-0 then 0-60 ten times down the road with smoke pouring out of the wheels.

I also debadged the trunk. I love it! the rear end looks much cleaner and a lot more aggressive. A quick pic to show it off:

I recently detailed the whole car using a PorterCable and Adam's Polishes. I hope to do another photoshoot tonight before I get the car too dirty again.

I still plan to clear the headlights and debadge the grill on one of these upcoming weekends.

Now I'm debating between a trackday at Watkin's Glenn on Oct 4-5 with NASA N.E. Region or a Protune.

Thats the ticket for the rear. It looks really sleek and clean. Don't lose the wing, and I'd keep the front grill the way it is. JDM tail light mod?
