note: these springs are PRE-production, and will most likely not be the final spec of what will be released to the public. anything and everything you see and hear from me is most likely not even relevant to what will hit the market

meeting tonight has been rescheduled for friday.

So have you taken them for a more performance oriented drive yet?

i didn't need any adhesive remover this time.
just some floss and mt fingernail.

i guess it depends how long your car has been sitting on the lot, and baking in the sun.
if you get a fresh one, it should come off pretty easy.

i have been asked not to post comments on these springs as they are not the final version. so i would not spread false information. as everything i would say will be regarding the pre-production springs, and not the final version.

Jph,

I was wondering if you could send me any pics or info you have on removing the intake silencer. I see you helped out Spaceman...if you could send me what you helped him out with, it would be greatly appreciated. By the way, great looking ride!

That is one nice STi. I'm trying to decide between Silver and White. But after seeing yours, Silver is looking pretty good.

Can I ask, have you had any issues with the paint chipping? I've read posts on this issue and was interested if certain colors were more prone to chipping.

Thanks

nope, no paint chips at all.
i guess that you only get those when you live in an area where they throw gravel on the road in the winter, or you like doing offroad donuts

^^^ from what i understand, you dont have to remove the front clip to take the silencer out. you can just remove the air box and the silencer should be below it and can be removed that way as well.

jph, the drop looks sweet! i think it looks even more aggressive than the racecomp drop! i wants it!!

time for a little update maybe?

installed EBC redstuff pads last weekend.

i had them on my "in between sti's car" and i loved them. so, why not put them on my sti this time? i had these sitting in a box for quite a long time now, and finally got around to installing them.

towards the end of my bed-in, the pedal started to get pretty soft, so fluid and SS lines will be next.

one problem though... the SCREAM like nobodies business when not putting a lot of pressure on them. like in "normal street stops" oh boy, do people jump out of the way when i slow down for them.

one of these days they'll come out again, and i'll be installing the OEM backing plates and shims with some brake grease. hopefully that'll fix this.

Reds are a pretty aggressive compound aren't they? But even my Ferodo ds2500s squealled w/o the shims. They sounded like a school bus or a semi when braking. People would give me ****ty looks. Put the Al shims back on and not a peep.

the reds are actually the "performance street" pad. one step up from the green street pad.

i put the OEM backing plates and shims on the fronts today.

still screaming like crazy. maybe they aren't bedded in properly yet?

i had around 5000 miles using the stock pads on the rotors. did not have the rotors resurfaced or anything, just a straight pad swap.

right now i "THINK" that the noise is coming from the front right pad. but i'm not sure, as it is very hard to judge where exactly it is coming from while sitting inside the car, it just sounds like it surrounds you
