yeah, it's pretty wide, but still thin.
i'm sure taller aftermarket units will be popping up soon.

Interesting to see the minor changes that have been made to the engine compartment. Namely the battery placement and the alternator cover. Does the ram air run staright to the airbox? (i.e. no snorkus?)

i believe that there still is a silencer , but it's not really getting airflow through it.
if i have some time during the weekend i may take the intake off to see how it's pieced together.

well, detailed the car today, and decided to have a closer look at the intake.
unfortunately, i was running out of time, and it was getting dark, so i didn't get much further than taking the "intake funnel" off and "feeling" where the silencer was.

when you reach into the square hole for the intake funnel, and reach all the way down, you can feel a small round opening that protrudes from the bottom of the intake box. i believe this is the silencer.

however, it is pretty much out of sight, and out of reach.

i snapped a quick pic and circled where i think the silencer is hiding, under the metal.

when i have some more time, i'll see if i can take the intake apart, and fish it out of there.

my quick and simple TMIC protection screen.

gutter guard, wrapped around the edges on the intercooler, pretty simple but *should* do the job.
