This isn't Jeff. Yes, sadly I did get beat by my co-driver at our first event.

here is a tip when you autocross next time, and I'm not being funny by the way. Leave everything the way it is when you start the car. Do not put it on sport#, do not turn off the VDC, do a middle run that way since you guys get at least 6 runs up norht (ugh I miss those days, we only get max 4 runs down here in NC), the results may surprise you. I accidentally left all systems on at their default settings on my last run, I even understeered slightly on a tight turn, and I felt like I was not going to be as fast, but decided to just continue driving hard anyway, I was 1.2 secs quicker, but conned towards the finish line. I'm not implying that keeping all systems on their default settings will always yield a faster time, but this is something that I do plan on investigating at my next event.

Jay,

I didn't know you moved south, I was wondering why I didn't see you around. I remember driving your EVO MR at englishtown once... was that after your STI? I'm co-driving waktasz's STI this season, so maybe I'll get to run against you soon. We did a 'home' alignment last night, maxing out the camber, but I don't have a gauge to read how much we got.

I think this car has an excellent chance of winning AS. It was very easy to drive fast, without any development. BTW, who's front swaybar did you get? I only know Perrin hasn't released their version yet.

Yeah I'm going to do the same, since I have time to go to the alignment shop. We have an autox event tonight at 7:00PM

I agree with you on the car having an excellent chance of winning. I'm planning on getting either the Cobb or Perrin bar. Since they are both going to be 25 mil initially, I'm picking up one as soon as someone has them available.

I'll be in possibly mid may for a couple of weeks, so hopefully we get to go head to head

FYI, Perrin said last week their bar was 3-4 weeks out.

I hit a cone last night, and it wasn't cold out at all. As a matter of fact, the temperature was in the 70s. Mine cracked/splited in the exact same location, and when I felt the bottom of the front bumper, I found no support for that area, and on top of it the plastic is razor thin down there. I didn't plow into the cone, but merely kicked it a side. When I got out of the car, I was like WTF?

This is really going to be an issue for a lot of owners who autocrosses. I don't even see what we can do down there to reinforce it, but all I can say is this, if you hit a cone or any small object, expect your front bottom part of the bumper (as seen in the photo) to crack/split. What a cheap design My 07 bottom front was world better than this piece of crap.

Yep you're right. It's hard to tell from the pic, but it is cracked all the way through to the back. It really is thin and weak down there.

FYI - I ran against an 08 in AS yesterday at the NER event. Forget 285's - go straight for the 295/30-18's!!! Saw it with my own eyes, they fit no problem. Driver had Volks with slightly lower offset, but still less than the allowable +/- 1/4".

Justin
PS - Why do I want to trade in my 06 for an 08 all of a sudden?
