Great review. Can't wait - I'm flashing mine Stage 1 93 on Monday...and as soon as I can get my hands on a downpipe I'm going Stage 2, then protune when the catbacks are available. I'm surprisingly enjoying this car in stock form (my 05 was Stage 2.5), much more than the 05...power comes on a lot nice in S#, even stock. I hear what you are saying about the suspension, this car is much harder to rotate, so I am glad the extra power takes care of that...I'm also going to a more robust endlink to help rotate the car a little better.

This is exactly the picture I was looking for... this may have put me over the edge. This is the best looking 08' I have seen.

For those of you with Cobb AP, does the stage 1 map restore the redline back to 7000rpm?

Do you mean does it change the display on the tach?

There is nothing special about the 6700 rpm redline - I've already gone past it. Somewhere above it there might be a fuel cut, but it definitely isn't until after 7K.

Really? That's kind of what I was hoping. Some of the dyno pulls that I've seen show the stock runs ending at 6700, where as the stage 1 Protunes go to 7K. Interesting. That would be cool if the stock limit is 7K. Thanks for the info.

Is it just me or does stage 2 not look as impressive... I mean... of course it will probably be faster than previous years because of the new setup... but stage 1 gets 12%/19% increase... and stage 2 gets a 15%/24% increase over stock... seems like either stage 1 is more impressive or stage 2 isnt as impressive?? or am i just drunk?? hahaha

Does that mean that maybe the exhaust isn't as restrictive as previous years?! Could it be a better downpipe design??

Anyone's thoughts... ???

Tell me if I am being dumb... hahaha

In contrast... stage 1 is 13%/17%... stage 2 is 19%/35% diff over stock in the 2007s...

From reports I have seen the new 08's are putting down more wheel horsepower than previous years... so maybe I am just crazy here... wouldn't mind hearing some opinions though... just something to discuss...

Nice car Droideka. I am ready to go stg 1 also but I want it protuned (my problem is that I don´t know if my stock ECU is tuned a different way because I bought my STI in Mexico ). Do you guys think that it matters, or the AP will just "delete" the previous settings and give you all new ones. (I´m sorry for going a little of topic, but I´m very new and very "alone" down here, so thanks for any direction).

Droideka,
I'm in Dallas also, and I've got an 08'. I'd love to try yours someday with the mods installed.

can you PM me more info on Motorsports Ranch? It seems that you have to be part of a club or sign up for racing school in order to drive the track??

great looking car!

While I can't answer your question, I can tell you that Dan Harman, of Harman Motive fame, has been VERY helpful with all of my questions regarding AP. You may want to give him a try. Good luck.

i think you have a legitimate beef as i feel the same way. the gains for stage 2 just don't seem right according to every other dyno plot i've seen, or cobb's stage 2 map is EXTREMELY conservative. that being said, i am going to do the DP in another 500 miles and will flash the cobb stage 2 map since i already have it on my AP, but i will be looking for a protune shortly thereafter if the "seat of the pants" impression doesn't do it for me.
