Yeah thats another 1/2" wider then your setup, and with a tire that is very full for its size, and the square profile, I hope the OP has some very stiff springs, and or dont mind running a lot of rear camber or ride hight. Cant wait to see it finished should be sweet.

yeah my coilovers have a custom rate of 550/500lb springs. the Tein SS spring rates are very soft in comparison.

btw to run that wheel/tire setup you're gonna need at least -3.5* camber in the rear. which IMO is very stupid (not saying you are). I also have very massaged (actually cut) fenders and with 18x9.5 +35, 265/35 RE-01R's, I'm right on the edge. I can probably squeeze some 265/35/18 Yoko A048's in the rear.

for one, it's gonna be really hard to pull that much camber in the rear. secondly, more negative camber in the rear isn't good for drag or road racing. thirdly it looks retarded. lastly I still doubt it's gonna fit with a nice lowered stance.

I guess if its for show it's cool, but don't plan to do any spirited with them.

Don't worry about the 265s, on stock springs you will definately rub in the rear, but with stiffer springs you shouldn't have a problem except in most severe instances- i have soft prodrive springs and they stopped 98% of rubbing on the rear during very aggresive driving. With a little fender massaging, you'll be fine!

Enjoy them!!!

Of all places, this would be the one to call it by its correct name.......

Anyway, I'm a bit surprised you have no intentions aside from weekend cruising and showing this car. Why drop so much into it to make it so fast and track capable, then just cruise and show?

Its not so much a 265 but the fact that the wheel and tire are being pushed out farther from the hub face. Sure if you wanted to order a wheel with the exact offset u needed the 265 could be made to fit reasonably easy, but none of us are ordering Forgeline wheels around here u have to deal with what is out. +22 is just really far out for a STI

not only that, but BM is also running 04 rear lateral links with the narrower track (more outboard clearance than a MY05).

that maybe true when you're running an 8.5 +45mm offset like you and me.

the OP will be on a 9.5" which will utilize the full 265 where our 8.5" wheels pinch the 265. Also the 265 AD07 is very wide for its size.

a 9.5 +22mm and a 265 is going to require more than a "massage" of the fenders.

OP, be sure to read this you're going to have to use alot more hammer than this but it'll give you a good idea of the work required.
