Default Brett's 2004 WRB STi Journal **Update** New Stereo and Pics Page 2

Alright, so I have a little free time this week so i decided to start up a journal. I've had the car for a couple months now and I love it.. So much fun and I'm so excited to get all the everything going.

So I guess to start things off, the car is a 2004 WRB STi. I got it on my 21st birthday and other than being wingless, it's bone stock. I looked at a few different ones before I picked this one and one of the things that really got me on this one was the fact that it was completely stock. I really wanted one with nothing done to it so I could do all the mods and everything myself, just the way I want it. As of now, I'm not planning on doing alot of heavy modding, just some light, fun stuff. The car is def going to be my daily driver so basically I just want to have fun with it and make it look good so there's not going to be alot of crazy engine or performance mods(for now). I will do some stuff as I get ideas but please forgive me, this is my first turbo car so I'm still learning all there is to know about how the engine works and what there is to do.

So for now, there's not a whole lot done but I've definitely got some plans.. his name is Samson, which my mom came up with and kinda stuck..

Factory Options

- Auto Dimming Mirror w/ Compass
- Upgrade Security System
- STi Blue Floor Mats

MODS: Red= Soon To Come

PERFORMANCE

- Blitz DTT II Turbo Timer
- Intake Silencer Delete
- Catback Exhaust of some sort
- Suspension of some kind
- Boost Gauge Mounted To Steering Column
- Front and Rear Sway Bars

Exterior

- Wingless Trunk Lid
- JDM Tail Light Mod
- 20% Tint All Around Post 2
- Debadged Trunk (only STi logo right) Post 2
- DIY Grill Mod (Subaru logo delete) Page 2
- V-Limited Replica Front Lip Post 2
- Cleared Headlights
- Black Powdercoat Stock BBS Rims

Interior

- New STi Blue Floor Mats
- Prodrive Six Speed Shift Knob (Polished Black) Post 2
- Alpine iDA-X001 In Dash Deck Page 2
- Insignia 12" Subwoofer x2 (Saved From My Last Car)

Here are the first pics of him..

Thanks for looking everyone and I hope you enjoy,

~brett

So here are some pics of the first few mods I've done on the car so far. Nothing major but I'm really happy with the way everything has been going so far.

First up, I got 20% tint done all the way around which I'm really pleased with, turned great IMO

Next up, I installed the Replica V-Limited Front Lip a few days ago and I think it looks great. I would've loved to get the real deal but it's a little pricey for me and this replica looks and fits really good

For the interior, I got a Prodrive Shift Knob in Polished Black for Christmas. I think it looks sick and aside from getting really hot and really cold, it feels awesome

That's it for now. I'll take pics of the grill mod I did yesterday soon. I hope you guys enjoy and I'd love to hear any comments or feedback everyone has. Thanks again,

~brett

Very clean! You should probably get some EM before all the other enging mods your getting. used 04 Accessports are going for under $300 nowadays.

In the sea of modded STi's a near stocker is pretty refreshing. I forget sometimes how sweet the 04 was in stockish form. Happy modding.

Just keep an eye on the classifieds section of this site. One will probably pop up in there soon enough.

As for the car, it looks great man. Nice choice.

yeah look on here and nasioc. i wouldn't really trust the ones on ebay. i'm sure some good ones will pop up, but i've seen some unmarried ones and the dude's sound like they stole them if you can swing it, a new apv2 would be the best deal. hell you find one of those used if you look around long enough. but it's one of the best things you can do. our years where known for knock to..and ****ty 5th gear synchros...and being the "rough" STi ...where you at man? LA or SD?

Looks great. Do some research on that SPT intake before you get one. I've heard mixed reviews about it.

btw, I didn't know that cassette decks still existed...was this an option from Subaru when the 04's came out??

yea, ive done some more research on the intakes in general and i think im gonna hold off on it for now. think im gonna go with an AP first and see about the intake. As for the cassette player, im not 100% on that, it is a factory subaru radio but it's a different one than what they show in the manual for the car so i'm not sure if it was a special option or what.

Also, i'm wondering, with an AP, what is that gonna do to my gas mileage? I'm sure it depends on what map i end up running but the car doesn't get the best mileage out there and i'd really like to not make it any worse. Just wondering.
