I purchased my 07 STI in May 2007 from South Coast Subaru. It had 4 miles on the OD. I had always been given old hand-me-down cars so this is the first new car I have owned. I've been upgrading things since day one. Fortunately my very first mod was the Access Port; I flashed to Cobb's stage 1 map at about 1,000 miles. This took care of the hesitation, but then I got bored. Next, I purchased the exhaust, a few other bits and went into Harman Motive for a tune. By the time I installed the TBE & got tuned the car had about 6,000 miles. Since the tune I have gotten bored several times. Not bored with the car, I'm talking about bored on the weekends. And when I get bored I buy more parts and install them. It works out pretty good.

Thanks!

It's my Pop's house. Unfortunately the bikes are his too, but the car's all mine. We just finished building the house this year. It wasn't more than a giant mountain of dirt & sticks a couple years ago. My brother and I built the garage doors & hung them, which took us weeks.

I should have the wheels in a month or so, I'll be sure to post some pics. I need to figure out what size tire to get, as noted in red above. In about a week I should have the cusco mounts.

Novtec, thanks. I figured since the battery is so tiny I may as well get it as low as possible. It's about a $4.00 mod, which consists of a couple pieces of 1/4" all-thread, some washers & nuts and a metal saw and pliers to bend the all-thread. I suppose you could just cut and re-bend the stock hooks but I l chose to keep them & the stock battery incase my braille takes a crap.

Looks good man, nice journal. And nice choice of rims, they should look pretty badass on the car.

Ok, where to begin.

first with your suspension uncertainty I would run a 235/40/18 since it will work with almost any ride height and almost any suspension you choose.

Lugs 12x1.25 is the proper thread pitch.

Centercaps you'll need should be the WR Center Cap (it says "rays" on it).

you don't need the Perrin Adjustable rear lateral links.

Coilovers really depend on your desired application and your ultimate budget.

are you for sure jumping to coilovers? if so you may be able to run something more along the lines of a 255/35/18 RE01R from the start.

but if you think you wont buy coilovers for a little while then you might as well get some cheaper 235/40/18s that you know will work with any suspension you use in the future.

and once you get to your final suspension setup you can go as wide as possible.

my $.02

good numbers on harman's dyno!... for coilovers, you got some good choices there. i say get what is in stock and their corresponding camber plates. that way you can get them on before the rims get mounted i have tein flexes, but super mad tyte suspension gods seem to hate them . i on the other hand love them. second car i've had teins on. won't be the last. been on teins since 2001

Personally I'm liking the new TiC ASTs and the upcoming zzyzx EM Coilovers

Thanks Clap. I'm not really in a rush here so I think the best thing to do is get the coilovers figured out first, then buy the tires. I added KW Variant 3's to the list. Hopefully TIC gets theirs to market soon. Something tells me to wait for them.

i've rode on other setups. some ride good, some don't. noticed i said he had some good choices there. i know alot of people like the rce's and the cusco's are great. i've also rode on jic's,apexi's,hks's,zeals, and a ohlin setup. all have there good/bad sides. mine tend to be too stiff for some people

Default Re: Santa Clause came to town!

I picked up some goodies today (PICS will be up tomorrow):

Cusco Motor & Tranny mounts
Whiteline 24mm Adjustable Rear Swaybar
Whiteline 27mm Adjustable Front Swaybar
Whiteline Heavy Duty Swaybar Mount
Kartboy Endlinks (Front & Rear)
Whiteline Anti-Lift Kit (Race Version)
GTSPEC Fender Reinforcement Braces
STI JDM Lug Nuts, Black & GOLD!

After seeing GTSPEC's fender braces I'm thinking about ordering this also:

GTSPEC Subframe Reinforcement Brace (3 piece set)

I've narrowed the coilovers down to 2. I'm stuck between the KW Variant 3's and the zzyzx EM Sports.
