yes, same tire.

I plan on keeping the BBS's, so, if there is a better option for an STU wheel/tire combo that isn't a good combo to daily drive on, then feel free to throw that out there.

ok, i'll put something together on the blog this week.

I'll focus on wheel selection and pros and cons of going 9" to 9.5" to 10"

I can briefly go over some tire info too, would that be of interest?

No problem Wes. If I don't go out to Palm Springs next weekend I may need your help installing the SS brake lines & new pads.

Did you get the Defi's in today?

this damn heat doesn't help the lazyness at all. I've been sitting inside doing absolutely nothing all day, enjoying the AC.

Default Re: JD's 07 STI: 03/29/08 - Brake Overhaul: New Pads, Lines, Fluid, Cusco Stuff

It was time to do a little work in the brake department. Here's the goods:

Fedoro DS2500 Front & Rear Pads
Stoptech Stainless Steel Brake Lines
ATE Super Blue Brake Fluid
Cusco Brake Stopper

Big thanks to WESTI for spending his entire Friday afternoon helping me install everything. We used the old fashioned 2 man bleeding method. Unfortunately there wasn't 3 of us, which resulted in getting to the 3rd brake & letting the reservoir run dry, and having to start all over again. You would think two people with OCD would not let this happen. Well, that only happened once.

Everything feels great, no squishiness in the pedal at all. It's very firm. Now it's time to bed the brakes. This should be fun.

I have read on Tirerack that you should resurface the rotors every time you change the pads in order to get the residue from the old pads off & start clean. If you don't, you will get brake judder; grip, slip, grip, slip. I'm not sure what to do.

well well well........ those parts certainly look familiar. It took a while but its cool cuz now i wont feel so bad asking you to help me install all of my other parts HAHHA. I say just find one of those roads thats next to the freeway where no one drives on and just bed it in there. Either that or go to an industrial area at like 2 in the morning

^^ Agreed.... you should get the rotors machined every once in a while, but i dont think it should matter this one time?... Dont quote me on that, maybe shoot someone on here a PM that road races, or does auto-x?

Also... i wish there were more members around here so i could go harass em to help me install stuff, and vise versa

I have no idea where to go to get them resurfaced. Dealership? Nor do I feel like taking the rotors off.

Yeah, i went up like 11 times so far this season... its dry and warm now but might be able to squeeze a few more trips ... i didnt go nearly as much as i wanted which SUCKS

as for the rotors, yeah the dealer can do em for ya.... i know it may suck to pay for it, but eh.... its prolly a good idea to have it done every once in a while... just take the pads and such that u already bought and just have em install it and do the rotors... they should seat the brakes for ya as well so all u gotta do is drive away w/ a smile....

Personally, i get to do all my own brake work, oil changes, blah blah blah.... my dad's a tech at a dealership so i can go down and do it all myself...

I only mention the dealer and what they should do above, cause thats what all the techs at the dealer do.... resurface and seat em right at least, install blah blah blah u get the idea

Are all your rotors surfaces smooth? Do you have score marks in them?

I work with a guy from CO. He went boarding about 3 weeks ago. I guess it was the best snow you guys have had for a very long time. I think he may have said best ever. This true? I love boarding way too much to be living in Socal.

I already installed everything yesterday. I think I'll take the easy route & pay the dealership to resurface them. Thanks for the info.
