Thanks to the Internet, it is hard for me to discern if that is sarcasm or sincerity. Either way, I tracked down this shot of the car from March 2007.

The most obvious difference is that I decided to try out an LGT intake manifold. I also installed a rotated GT3076R at the same time. I just finished up the install this evening. I don't even know if the car runs yet. That's the next task and scheduled for tomorrow.

Thanks. I'm still fighting the urge not to explain my setup. However, since I did finally start this thread, I guess I've resigned myself to continue it. The reasoning for not wanting to explain things is that it might expose me for the fool that I am. Most fools don't like to acknowledge their own foolishness.

I'm one of the sad folks that has tried way to many parts. The problem is not so much the expirementation, but the cost it incurs. For turbos, besides the stock VF39, I've had a 20G, SZ49, SZ55, and now this twin scroll GT3076R.

I'm also a sad folk that lost a ringland over the summer. So this is also not exactly internally OEM.

Tune??? Or just going to see if it starts? Do you have a any EM? Just asking not much of a explination of what has been done, and you say you just installed a 30R.

I will be setting a base level, safe tune before I start it up. The engine itself is still in the break-in phase, so I am not going to be boosting for a little while. I do have a wideband, EGT, oil temp/pressure, and knocklight installed as well. I use primarily StreetTuner, but do occassionally use Enginuity when I have to.

Some good news. The car starts! I have some tweaking of fuel to do since I am now running an Aeromotive FPR and have it set to around a 54 psi base intead of 43.5 psi.

And for anyone wondering (anyone? anyone?), the LGT electronic throttle body is indeed plug and play with the STi ECU and wiring harness. At least for the 2005 LGT and 2004 STi. No warranties intended or implied for any other model years.

Here is a shot of the maiden voyage down the driveway. Don't mind the dirt. And, no, I didn't actually drive with the hood up.

Daemon isn't giving himself enough credit at all.

He put the new motor in himself. He has done all of the work on the car himself. He does his own tuning. In addition, he is a heck of a nice guy (and I say that from personal experience). I don't care if he thinks of himself as foolish - all I have to say is that he definitely is not a fool in any way, shape, or form.

I really want to see this Journal go forward as I am biting my lips (errrrr, or is that fingers?) to not say anything more about this kickass setup.

Darn it Tim. You are making me blush. Now if I just knew the emoticon key combination for blushing, I'd use it now.

[EDITED BY MODERATOR: Luckily, I am a moderator and I could edit your post with quite a few blushing emoticons - rofl]

[EDITED BY DAEMON: Thanks for showing me the emoticon (not to mention abusing your priviledges as moderator). That's a joke to anyone that thinks I might actually be upset. Tim can abuse me anytime. Er. Um... Not sure that came out right. ]

What are the advantages of using an lgt intake manifold?

Possibly none. It is partially an expirement. But if I had to make a list of possible reasons...

1. Light weight
2. Plastic resin might not heatsoak quite as much as the aluminum (and thus heat the air inside less)
3. Slightly different runners and plenum, so might affect performance some how (could hurt it too)
4. Using one in an STi is somewhat unique, so it makes me part of a small club.

Some day in the distant future, I would love to dyno my car with both manifolds and nothing else changing but the manifolds.
