I'm trying to gather a few more parts before I get my tune. I've e-mailed Chris at XX Tuning a few times to get his suggestions on what parts I should get. He said that everything I have should be good for the tune. My friend recently sold his WRX and had a process west fmic and other parts that he was trying sell. After much consideration I decided to not buy the fmic, but instead go for water/meth injection. I figured I’d get more bang for the buck if I tooK this route.

I'm still researching on whether or now I should go 50/50 or another ratio. Any suggestions are welcomed.

I was off from work this weekend so I took the time off on Saturday to change to my winter tires and wheels. While the wheel was off I also took the time to take out the intake silencer. It was a little tough getting out that second bolt because its a little tight in that area. It ended up snowing on Sunday, so I didn't have to worry about heading out with snow on the ground. It takes some time for the city to plow my street so knowing I wouldn't have any problems was great.

Here are the pics:

Thanks. It wasn't too bad of an install. My friend helped me put everything in. He has a hookup at one of the subaru dealerships so buying the part to install the oil temp was cheap.

I stopped by my friend's house to check out the meth kit and it looks like its not going to be too bad in my trunk. He included an extra tank too. I'm just waiting for the my exhaust to come in so everything can get installed.

Default Exhaust has arrived

My exhaust finally arrived at Fizz. I'm either picking it up on Saturday or Sunday. I don't know if its getting installed this weekend because I have work, but I'm trying to get it all done before the new year.

I also called XX Tuning to see what their schedule is looking like for the tune, and they said they're available when I'm free. I'm off on the 3rd and the 4th so I'll try to get everything in so I can get tuned around that time.

Thanks everyone for the compliments.

I had a sneak peak of the exhaust while loading it into my trunk and backseat last night. I'm heading over to a friend's house tonight to drop off all the parts that needs to get installed. My friend is a little sick and the weather isn't looking too nice, so it might have to wait for a few more days.

After this I'm planning to upgrade to to stainless steel brakes lines and change to slotted rotors. I'll decide on what brake package to pick up once I save up enough for everything.

I also received a job offer at a bigger company so I might be able to upgrade my turbo and pick up supporting parts sooner than expected. I'm not looking to go too big, but I'll see how I like stage 2 with meth and decide what to do from there. I still need to figure out what I'm doing with the exterior, but I'm not too much in a rush for that.

Default Exhaust Installed

I had a chance to drive the car over the past few days. I haven't really pushed it because of the weather and because I've had to haul my parents around with their van is out of commission until Sunday. I can definitely feel the difference and I haven't pushed it much. I'll have some time to push it a little after I drop off my friend tonight.

I also spoke to my friend about getting the meth kit put in, but with our schedules it won't get done 'til the first weekend in January. That means I can't head out to XX Tuning until the 12th. I got a new camera for Christmas that's nothing special, but at least I'll be able to record a video of the new exhuast. I was hoping to have my brother video tape the car on Monday, but he didn't want to head out. My friend is down so I'll try to get some clips in on Saturday.

Meth + custom tune with stock turbo and IC should get you really good increase in torque and spool the turbo faster. HP wise, it shouldn't be as big increase as TQ. Just make sure your meth kit injectors wouldn't get clogged and of course, don't let alky container be empty if you are going to run higher boost then stage 2.

A Full-Race GT-3071 will be a very good turbo for that motor and for the streets...

Good luck...

Thanks for the info. I'll definitely consider it when I save enough money for everything. I'll save some money first and by this time next year I'll make a list of what I'm going to order.

In the spring I'll order JDM fog lights and that'll probably finish everything up for the exterior, except maybe a new set of wheels. I was also thinking about getting a lip spoiler, but i'd scrape while entering the gas station or my driveway.

After I dropped off my friend I headed to Howard Beach to show my other friend the car. There's a nice long strip where not many cars or people are so I headed out there to take him for a little ride. I took a little easy though because it was raining last night. He said he could definitely feel the difference in the way the car pulls. I can't wait to get the car dynoed and then tuned to find out what my number are. I don't push the car often, but its definitely nice to know that the power is there.
