| Junior STI Driver | The guy isn't coming down from $1000...he said he paid $950. I should probably wait until 2009. There's always a better deal down the road. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | If I were trying to get these seats, but I wanted them as low as possible (while hopefully retaining a slider). I am confused about the wedge brackets- are they sold as either fixed or height adjustable? and if so which one has the lowest possible height? If I were to buy aftermarket sliders rather than reusing the mitsu ones, would I be likely to get a little lower? Finally, if I did get much lower than the wedge part numbers listed above with the mitsubishi sliders, would I start to have problems with the slider handle hitting the floor? |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | I have the wedge brackets that are adjustable. I am 6'2" and I am happy with the height. I have them set at the lowest setting in the back and the middle setting on the front. This way I sort of sit more in the seat. They do sit lower than the STI seats by about an inch or 2. I really like my Evo seats. Just wish I had the black leather/suede ones. I may do a swap for them next spring/summer. Buy the black ones and sell the ones I have to make up some of the difference. |

| All day everyday | I bought a set of leather evo seats last week complete with rails/sliders for a great deal. great mod! the thing is that the seats come with a knob to adjust the recliner. is there a way to incorporate a lever to recline the seats? |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | you can adjust the seats while you are in the car, but it isnt a quick thing to do like the STI seats and a handle. There are 4 bolts on each seat that need to be undone. To get a feel for the seats I put the pass side in first with both on the middle settings. It was ok, but I wanted to go lower with the driver. That is why I went 1 notch lower in the back. This is a picture of one of the front tabs on the brackets. The bad news is, if you want to go lower, you have to cut or bend the tabs due to the way the brackets are designed and the way they fit in the car. They come from Wedge with 3 mounting holes. Once I decided how I wanted them mounted, I cut the last hole off so I could drop them down. You do not have to cut the tabs for the back of the bracket. |

Evo 8 cloth RECARO usually go for about 450-650 depending on the condition. Evo 8/9 leather RECARO usually go for about 850-1100 depending on the condition. Shipping these seats usually costs about $150, ballpark figure. If the clip in the middle of the seat is broken and the material has play in it, that's about $140 to fix, at least that's what it cost me at an authorized RECARO dealer. The brackets are about $300 if I'm not mistaken. To get the seats re-upholstered, $900 to $1300 depending on the material you want, labor and any extra stitching or custom work. So I will take myself as an example: Evo 8 RECARO cloth, fair condition on Ebay: $450 + shipping = $600 Cleaning the seats for 3 hours = $20 materials plus my time. Getting one of the seats's clips replaced = $140 Brackets = $270 3.3 ohm resistors = $5 Finding out my brackets need more work, welding, painting, grade 8 bolts...etc. = a whole day of work between friends, $40 in materials. This is what you can expect. | |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | Almost seems like a better deal to get a pair of Recaro Speeds with the matching blue fabric from Racecomp Engineering if they're really going for over $1000 a set for the EVO Recaros.
